1) So good, never over! Trends will come and go, but an inventive lass (or lad) will always find something new and delicious to produce.

2) In general nay. It's possible some neat stuff could still be thrown together, but a celebrity name alone does not a good baking mix make.

3) YUM! Totally sweet.

4) Room for more. Those that have something offer will succeed, and those that don't will take care of themselves.

5) Delicate Delight...Sugar and taste buds don't care about being overhyped.

6) Yes! Perfection is always worth the wait.

7) Depends. Has a high potential to turn out yuck, but gets points of being innovative.

8) I don't even know what they are! Now I want one!

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterSarah Johnston

1. SO over.
2. Nay. I'd rather make my ownl
3. totally sweet
4. enough is enough
5. delicate delight, one of my faves!
6. Yes! (And I'm actually hungry for the cookies because I haven't just eaten tons of dough)
7. Never had one
8. Probably

# Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? SO over, liek OMG!
# "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries) -- Nay - ridiculously expensively for usually low quality.
# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? AMAZING.
# Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Always room for more, as long as they're good.
# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? I love coconut, so I say bring 'em on!
# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Depends on the cookie.
# Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): Innovative but no thanks.
# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: I think it's cookies!

Bacon in baked goods: so good if done with a light touch

"Designer" cake and baking mixes NAY!

Salted caramel: totally sweet

Cupcake shops I think they should be like Starbucks - one on every corner!
French macarons: I hate to say it but I think they are overhyped?
Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Definitely. I chill my pans to avoid spread, too.

Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? Yuck - cupcakes are dessert.

Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree?

I haven't seen much evidence of this as a trend to be honest so I have to disagree.

Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? Only if the baked goods are savoury...NEVER in sweet...puh-lease! :)

"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? I'd say nay. Make 'em yourself! :)

Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Never tried salted caramel - not popular Down Under.

Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Room for more - especially in Australia...we need GOOD cupcake places - not just ones that use vanilla & choc cake mix from a packet and put frosting on it that resembles plastic! :)

French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? You know - I've never tried one!! I know, shame on me!! Is there somebody out there who will educate me on baked goods when I come to the US? :)

Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? I've never done it myself - but chilled cookie dough is always good :) [Especially when eaten by itself...oops! LOL]

Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? YUCK!!!! Enough said.

Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? I've only just found out what one is...I'd be saying NO, they remind me of something you make at home - not something I'd be buying from a bakery, ooohing and aaahing about! :)

That's my 2 cents :)

# Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over?

No thanks.

# "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay?

EWWWW no. There's nothing I hate more than over priced baking/cooking supplies with some idiot's name on them.

# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty?

Very, Very salty. Molly Moos has a great ice cream version, though.

# Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more?

Only if they can make a moist cake. It's not easy.

# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped?

I'm still enjoying the macaron phase. Give me another few months and I'll be done.

# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait?

My cookie dough barely gets around to be baked without any chilling....having dough hanging out in the fridge would be much to tempting. But the cookies are a bit better, to be honest.

# Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck?

No thank you.

# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree?

I grew up in Pennsylvania near Amish country, and had whoopie pies every time my family went to the farmer's market. They're wonderful. And they remind me of a carefree childhood--so they're not just a fad, they're the best thing ever!

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterLaura

1. No no no - no bacon in baked goods. Ever.
2. Nay. Thanks, but I can mix flour and baking soda myself.
3. I like the salt and sweet mix!
4. Enough is enough - let's have a blend of baked goods!
5. I've never had one, but they are beautiful...
6. Definitely. Don't make cookies without it.
7. Nastiest thing I've ever heard.
8. I'm ashamed to say I've never had a whoopie pie...

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterBrittany

1. sooo good. bacon makes everything better
2. nay to designer mixes! nothing beats homemade
3. salted caramel: soooo delicious!
4. room for more! none in my neighborhood yet!
5. french macarons are amazingly good! mmmmm
6. chilling dough is totally worth the wait
7. never had a savory cupcake, but i'm open to the experience
8. nothing beats a cupcake. the ratio of creamy goodness to cake is all off in the whoopie pie.

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterDawn

1. How can people say no to bacon in baked goods? SO GOOD
2. Nay. We can do just as good and for a quarter of the price.
3. Havn't tried salted caramel. Sounds weird.
4. Room for more! Always :)
5. Delightful! Colourful! Delicious!
6. Always worth the wait. Be patient!
7. No no no to savoury cupcakes! It's not a cupcake!

Bacon in baked goods: never got into to it to actually be over it!

"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)- nay - unless there's a Cakespy brand.

Salted caramel: totally sweet

Cupcake shops opening everywhere: If you build it, they will come.

French macarons: way overhyped - glarf.

Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Anything is worth it for the perfect cookie.

Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yuck

Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? I hope so - I do love a Whoopie pie!!

1. Veggie bacon?
2. Rather a good recipe from a celebrity chef and then make my own.
3. too salty
4. In the last month I have noticed at least 6 new cupcake shops in the town where I work... and now I realize how behind the times it actually is.
5. on my way to France and plan on trying tons of macaroon flavours.
6. yes.
7. no thanks.
8. I will try your recipe!

# Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? So good. Why does anything need to be labeled as "over?"
# "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? Nay. Why spend $7 when you can spend $1 on Betty Crocker. Mix is mix.
# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? TOTALLY SWEET! Best flavor ever.
# Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Enough is enough. Let some of the bad ones die and let the good ones reign forever!
# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? Delicate delight. Especially in lemon.
# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Depends on the cookie. Sugar - yes, chocolate chip - no. Either way only about half makes it to the oven :).
# Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? Yum! Meatloaf with mashed potato frosting is amazing.
# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? No. Too limiting. Cupcakes have a million varieties of flavors and decorating opportunities. Whoopie pies are just different flavors. Delicious though.

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterHali

1) over! (and not kosher, btw!!)
2) nay
3) sWEET! love it.
4) enough of the mediocre cupcake shops - if were going to have more, they need to be truly tasty and beautiful (the cupcakes, i mean - enough of the cupcake shop that looks like all of the other ones with cupcakes that disappoint)
5) way overhyped, occasionally awesome
6) have you been able to wait?
7) nope, can't do it
8) looks that way

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterKim

1. Bacon - I've never actually tried it but having bacon in a sweet baked good seems bit gross... I'm all for savory foods with bacon though

2. Cake mixes - definitely nay - celebrity chefs should know better than to encourage people to use cake mixes. It's all about baking from scratch!

3. Salted caramel - totally sweeeeet!

4. Cupcake shops - well there isn't many in Perth, Australia so I'd say there's a whole lot of room for more

5. Macarons - delicate delight - and fun to make

6. Chilling dough - this is just cruel - stick it in the freezer for a few minutes and you're good to go I reckon

7. Savory cupcakes - pretty funny, but pretty gross

8. Whoopie pies - all that icing looks a bit sweet for me, so I'm gonna have to say no

March 25 | Unregistered CommenterEmma

# Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? Uh, so NOT over. DELISH!

# "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? NAY - scratch or nothing!

# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Drooollll...yum

# Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Still waiting for one in Milwaukee

# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? overhyped

# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? neutral

# Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? Depends on who does it. I had one this weekend that sucked a$$.

# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? No way.

1. Over.
2. Nay.
3. Totally sweet
4. Room for more. There aren't any near me! :(
5. Both (in a way)
6. If you have the time & they aren't only for little kids who will think they're amazing no matter what.
7. Yuck.
8. No, although it would make my father happy if they were.
