Bacon in baked goods: I thought so until recently HAVING bacon in a baked good. Not over yet. Also: delicious. But definitely not good for you.
"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)-- severe nay. Like celebrity cookbooks = out of fashion.
Salted caramel: Perfect. Just watch your measuring tools.
Cupcake shops opening everywhere: no thanks. So many now are giving bad names to cupcakes and it's ridiculous to charge up to 10 bucks just for a hand-sized creation. If you want cupcakes, make them yourself! Or ask your mom! Now here's something I DO support: something that isn't just "cupcakes" but a little twist, like vegan cupcakes, or candyland esque cupcakes pretzels, etc..
French macarons: overhype.
Chilling dough for perfect cookies: it's yummier to eat cooked or uncooked.
Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): Done right, sure. Most of the time, done wrong.
Whoopie pies as the next big thing: Not really. Cupcakes I get can get big. Whoopie pies are a bit one dimensional. At least cupcakes can be varied enough to look interesting; whoopie pies is just that: two outer layers, creamy layer, boom done.
1. I'm a veg, so I'll say so over.
2. Nay, please, don't these people have better things to do with their time?
3. Totally awesome.
4. Room for more, but only because I have kids. Otherwise I would say enough already.
5. If done right, delicate delight.
6. Only done it once, but yes.
7. YUCK.
8. Don't get it, but made them for my clients and they were a big hit.
1. Sooooo good!
2. Nay.
3. Sweet, totally sweet.
4. Room for more but only if they're good.
5. Delicate delight
6. I can never wait that long so I can't answer the question.
7. Yuck!
8. Aren't Whoopie Pies retro? No, please no, not the next big thing.

~ "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? Depending on price, yay. Possibly overrated though.
~Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Never had any... but I'd imagine them to be too salty. (wouldn't really know until I had them though)
~Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Room for more! Only because I need to open my own one day. =) And honestly, it's hard to find a good cupcake shop....not any bakery can cut it.

Yuck? Yum? A little bit of both.
Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree?

"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? I've tried the Barefoot Contessa cake mixes and they were delicious! I have Martha Stewart's white cake mix in the pantry now. I just can't find a reason to use it.

5. French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? Delight for sure!
6. Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Who has that kind of self control?
7. Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? If it gets kids (or grownups) to eat dinner...why not?
# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? I'd be a fan of that!
Bacon in baked goods: over + yukky
"Designer" cake and baking mixes: nay-nay-nay
Salted caramel: totally sweet
Cupcake shops opening everywhere: always room for more
