1. Bacon is way over.
2. No celebrity mixes. Overpriced and unexciting.
3. Salted caramel has potential.
4. Still room for more!
5. Macaroons are best for special occasions, so only break them out once in a while.
6. Definitely worth it. Throw em in the freezer to speed it up.
7. Savour cupcakes are gross. Don't spoil such a great treat. Yuck!
8. Yeah, I can feel the whoopie pies coming on.

1. Bacon in baked goods: So good! I especially love the twist VooDoo Doughnuts puts on it with their bacon-topped maple bar.
2. "Designer" cake and baking mixes: Yea.
3. Salted caramel: Oh man, totally sweet...I'm sort of in love with Starbuck's Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate right now.
4. Cupcake shops opening everywhere: Though I'm a huge fan of Hello Cupcakes in Tacoma and New York Cupcakes in Bellevue, the flood of new cupcake shops is almost taking away from the novelty of the originals.
5. French macarons: Hmm...overhyped.
6. Chilling dough for perfect cookies: Definitely worth the wait...it's just not the same at room temperature.
7. Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): Pretty much not at all appetizing
8. Whoopie pies as the next big thing: Love 'em, but there are so many other better options for "the next big thing."

#1 - so good. There is room to expand
#2 - Nay. Just capitalizing on a name.
#3 - TOTALLY SWEET. I don't even see why this was a question.
#4 - Enough is Enough. Seriously.
#5 - Way overhyped - good, but I think people just eat them to feel fancy.
#6 - Worth it!
#7 - Yum. I like the creativity.
#8 - Probably. Fun + Retro = next big thing.

1. Still haven't tried putting bacon in my baked goods...I'm scared.
2. If I'm not baking from scratch, a regular box mix is just fine.
3. Salted caramel is divine! Now I won't take my caramel any other way.
4. There is always room for more cupcake shops. Hey, I think every store should sell cupcakes- as long as they're good ones.
5. Finally had a french macaron. It was very good, and everyone should try one because they taste like nothing else...but they're no better than any other tasty dessert.
6. Chilling dough for the perfect cookie is so worth the wait. No shortcuts, no slacking, I want my cookies to taste their best!
7. Savory cupcakes? No thank you.
8. Whoopie pies? Sure, why not.

March 27 | Unregistered CommenterMegan B.

1- Bacon in baked goods: Sooooooo good
2- "Designer" cake and baking mixes - nay
3- Salted caramel: totally sweet with that little touch of salty
4- Cupcake shops opening: Depends on the area. I think in several of the cities enough is enough, but some places still have room for more
5-French macarons: delicate delight when done right
6- Chilling is worth the wait
7- Savory cupcakes: yuck
8- Whoopie pies: not quite yet, but in time

March 27 | Unregistered CommenterJeff & Cara

1. So over...I don't like bacon to begin with, so having it in baked goods made me gag a bit.

2. Nay. I don't need to help those "celebrity" chefs make more money. I'll make it myself.

3. I'm neutral on it. It's okay, but nothing to write home about.

4. There aren't enough here in Houston so I vote for more!

5. They're pretty to look at.

6. It's worth it if you have the time, if not it won't ruin the cookies.

7. Yuck. Super yuck.

8. I've never had one, so I really couldn't say.

Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over?
Being vegan - I'm going to have to go with sooooo over.

"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay?
Oh, nay - I'm pretty neutral, actually. It isn't as if the box competes with the original. It's always about as good as any other box mix.

Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty?
Fan-freaking-tastic. I love a salty/sweet combination. Sticky/salty/sweet = even better.

Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more?
Enough is enough. Adorable, we get it. Unless, perhaps, we get a few more vegan/allergy friendly shops cropping up...

French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped?
Never had one, so I can't really say.

Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait?
Worth the wait. But aside from perfect presentation and perfect texture - unchilled is just fine with me.

Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck?
Savory cupcakes = muffins. Cupcake to me says sweetness and tooth-aches.

Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree?
Whoopie pies have been around far too long to be the "next big thing!" But if the trend really spreads... I'm all for it. I love me a fluffy pie. ;)

March 27 | Unregistered CommenterVeronica

Just came across your site, adorable! As for these trends...
1. over. never was a fan of the mix.
2. yay if its something unique
3. too salty for me, i've had some seasalt caramel truffles and its just too overwhelming.
4. room for more! cupcakes are great
5. never eaten one, but i'll have to try one now :)
6. worth the wait! it works out better for my schedule too generally. double plus!
7. yuck yuck gross gross
8. oooh i hope the next big thing, so tasty.

March 27 | Unregistered CommenterSteph

1) Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? I would really say so over but I know some people that are in love with bacon.

2) "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? Nay to me not worth the cost...you can make from scratch stuff much better.

3) Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? I would say totally sweet but I have actually never had any.

4) Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Room for more because I want one to open near me!

5) French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? Way overhyped.

6) Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Worth the wait because they do come out better that way.

7) Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? YUCK!!!

8) Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? Not really since they have been around forever.

March 27 | Unregistered CommenterMichelle

1. Bacon is so over.
2. Nah. I'd rather learn to do it.
3. I adore it!!!
4. There's none near me so there's room for more!
5. Never liked them.
6. Yup!
7. Definitely yucky.
8. Yes! They sound fun!

March 27 | Unregistered CommenterCaranam

1.Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? OVER IT!

2."Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? NAY - too expensive and generally not worth the hype!

3.Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Never tried it...

4.Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Enough is enough. I love cupcakes, but seriously, what's wrong with a regular cake these days?

5.French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? No idea, but I'd assume overhyped!

6.Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Probably, but I'm too impatient.

7.Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? Yuck!

8.Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? I'd like to see it happen!

Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? so good... so, so good

"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? full on NAY! don't do it!!!

Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? love me some salted caramel...

Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? there's always room, and I love to support one's endeavor... but getting a bit tired of them

French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? *blech*

Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? worth the wait, but a true test of one's discipline when tempted to eat the raw dough

Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? didn't like it in Jones Soda, don't like it in a cupcake

Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? taking something retro and revamping it... always a hit!

March 27 | Unregistered Commenteralways, Erin

1. Bacon is good in almost anything!
2. Celeb cake mixes: nay!
3. Salted caramel: best thing ever! Have you had the ones from Fran's?
4. Cupcake shops: well, we still need good ones where I live
5. French macarons: I haven't had them, so I don't know.
6. Chilling dough: definitely worth it!
7. Savory cupcake: um, no.
8. Whoopie pies: I'm not sure if they are the next thing, they seem like they are so big now that they are almost over.

March 27 | Unregistered Commenternslongpre

1. Bacon will never be over, no matter where it shows up.
2. Designer cakes are bogus. Who cares who made them - they should just be delish.
3. Perfect combo to me of salt/sweet.
4. Stop with the cupcakes please!
5. Sadly, I've never had one. Time to rectify that situation, pronto.
6. Yes, chilling the dough makes all the difference.
7. Cupcakes should be sweet.
8. I don't think whoopie pies are the next big thing.

March 28 | Unregistered CommenterKirsten

# Bacon is always good.
# Designer mixes are ok, but I probably still won't buy them.
# Salted caramel is just perfect.
# Never too many cupcake shops.
# French macarons: delicate delight, I absolutely love them.
# Chilling dough is almost always necessary for best dough handling.
# Savory Cupcakes: yuck!
# Had a Whoopie pie from Whole Foods last week that was delish, so I say yes to them being the next big thing. Perfect mix of frosting and cake.

March 28 | Unregistered CommenterVal

Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? I haven't tried any, but it does not appeal to me

"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? eh, nay, I like the easy Betty Crocker, I don't need to spend extra money for a name

Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? NICE

Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Room for more, I haven't seen any by me and I'm in a big city

French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? Sounds great to me!

Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? no way, patience is NOT my middle name

Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? YUCK

Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? OOOH I want one

March 28 | Unregistered CommenterJaymie

1. Bacon? Gross.
2. Yay (just wish they were cheaper)
3. Salted caramel--no. But just 'cause I'm not a huge caramel girl.
4. Enough is enough.
5. Delicate delight...when done right.
6. No patience. Cookies now!
7. Yuck!
8. I grew up in New England and miss whoopie pies. May they spread and prosper!

1. Bacon....so over!
2. Yay to designer cake mixes, even bakers need a fast cake fix sometimes.
3. Hey, a girl needs that "Sweet/Salty" combo sometime if you know what I mean. So, salted caramel, love it, not too salty for me.
4. Always room for a innovative and good quality cupcake shop.
5. Love french macarons
6. Chilling is good for shortbread but NOT worth the wait for any other cookie.
7. Yuck.
8. Yes, love a good Whoopie pie (No shortening in the filling please). Lots of combos yet to be discovered.

Thanks Cakespy!

March 28 | Unregistered Commenterconcretegirl

1. Yay and nay. They can be good, but I cringe at the thought of bacon in banana nut bread
2. Yay and nay. I would not use them, but they can be beautiful.
3. Totally sweet! I like salty and sweet. Caramel can be too sweet on its own so this is nice.
4. Seeing as the town I am currently living in is lacking one, ROOM FOR MORE
5.While they are deliciously lovely, they are popping up everywhere on the internet and too much of a good thing, makes it overhyped
6. Definitely worth the wait. Delicious cookies are worth the wait for anything.
7.Yuck. This could because I hate meatloaf in general, but I want my cupcake cake-y and sweet.
8. No. I think they are tasty, but are simply a flash in the pan.
