# French macarons: Deelite.

# Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? The trend hasn't really made it to my part of the country, so I've never had it. Definitely not over, but maybe not so great either.
# "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? NAY! Make from scratch. It's not that hard.
# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Mmm, sweet and salty, so very yummy.
# Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? Always room for more, especially if the baker is creative enough.
# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? Delicate delight, maybe overpriced.
# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Not yet, it hasn't. One day I will try chilling cookie dough, but normally I so very much want cookies that I have to bake them RIGHT NOW!
# Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? Very definitely yuck. Blech.
# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? Not ever as big as cupcakes, but I think they'll become bigger than pie. Pie is hard to eat on the go.

1. Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? -- SO good!
2. "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? -- Nay for celebrity chefs, sometimes yay for famous bakeries.
3. Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? -- Totally sweet, love that stuff! Makes a great ice cream flavor, too.
4. Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? -- Enough is enough.
5. French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? -- Don't know, I'd love to make them at home but they're so tough, and I'm not paying $5 for one cookie. Okay, I guess that makes them overhyped.
6. Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? -- Not in my kitchen!
7. Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? -- Yuck.
8. Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? -- Definitely could be, they're tasty, but can get messy...

# So awesome!
# Nay, not the same as from scratch
# Love sweet ans salty together
# Room for more
# Oh they're delightful alright
# Totally worth the wait. It really helps keep the shape of cookies you want to look pretty.
# Ewwwwwwwww
# No way

1. Bacon in baked goods was never for me, as a vegan...I guess I could just squirt a little liquid smoke in my icing. Yuck.

2. Nay to mixes--I agree that baking from a mix isn't as gratifying as from scratch.

3. Salt + sweet is heavenly when the ratio is right.

4. Enough! Sometimes a girl just wants a Charlie Brown.

5. I've never had a macaron...I think I'll have to research an egg-free version, they look like fairy cakes!

6. If any dough is left after refrigeration, the cookies are fantastic...the only way to do gingerbread.

7. Yuck. Savories are better for muffins or pockets.

8. I agree with any excuse to pretend I'm eating one cookie when I'm really eating two.

March 26 | Unregistered CommenterLola

#1 Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over?
I think bacon works in things like cheesy buns, but not in a cupcake or anything

#2 "Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay?
I think that having a famous person's face on the package will make people trust the product more.

# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty?
I like regular caramel thanks.

# Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more?
Just like cupcakes, there's always room for more.

# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped?
Yummy

# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait?
Probably, but if I leave dough in the freezer, I will just come along and eat it.

# Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck?
Weird.

# Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree?
I prefer the classics.

# Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Yummy.

# French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? Delicate delight.
# Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Absolutely.

1.)Bacon in baked goods: so good or so over? - Though my vegetarian son would disagree, I still say everything is better with bacon :D

2.)"Designer" cake and baking mixes (for instance, those made by celebrity chefs or famous bakeries)--yay or nay? - NAY! NAY NAY NAY! Yuck.

3.)Salted caramel: totally sweet or way too...salty? Hmm...I've not had it but it sounds good :D

4.)Cupcake shops opening everywhere: enough is enough, or room for more? - Bring on the cupcakes! The more the merrier

5.)French macarons: delicate delight, or way overhyped? They are good but they are also way overhyped recently. We know they are good, shush about it already

6.)Chilling dough for perfect cookies: is it worth the wait? Yepp. Definately.

7.)Savory cupcakes (for instance, meat loaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting): yum or yuck? Only acceptable on April Fools Day. Otherwise: Ew what were you thinking?

8.)Whoopie pies as the next big thing: do you agree? Not really. Whoopie pies are okay but they are nothing new and not exceptional or exciting.
