I find decorating to be the most fun. To work and something and create something is the best.

Ooh tough call - but I am going to have to say decorating.

I love decorating... each cupcake looks better and better!

Decorating, for sure!
I like to let my creativity free and to follow whatever idea comes in my mind looking at the cake. :)

Kind of a toss up, but I'll have to say decorating:)

Decorating is by far my most favourite part of making cakes. We eat with our eyes first, right?

I love the decorating! It's fun to design something to match your party to keep the theme going!

DECORATING! You can be creative with it. And Piping beautiful things onto a cake is a wonderful task. Time consuming but soooo fun! =D

Baking is my favorite part...I love whirling things together and then enjoying the smell of heaven after!

Definitely the decorating! The baking part is important - must be tasty - but the decorating part is the most fun. I love the oohs and ahhs from people when they see my creations!!!

I much more of a baker than a decorator.

I love decorating. I'm an art major, so it only makes sense!

I consider cookie cutters to be part of the decorative process, too, although they happen before baking. :3

Can EATING be a favorite part of making a cake?

October 11 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

Definitely decorating! Being a college student, most of the recipients of my baked goods are ravenous college students deprived of most decent foods. If I can decorate a cake nicely, they take a moment to look at it and appreciate before consuming it whole.

Baking is my favorite for sure! I do love decorating as well, but at some point I tend to lose my patience... :)

I think I normally prefer the baking, as my decorating usually looks a little lopsided.

BAKING! although, i do love making my cakes look so pretty, the heart of sweets is the perfection within the cakes that are created, which fall back on preparation and baking.

Baking! Decorating can get a lot more tedious, but if it turns out really well, can also be the most rewarding. :)

I love the baking part for sure. The decorating part is fun but usually half way through I am tired of it and wish it was done. The really best part? EATING!

October 11 | Unregistered CommenterSara and Alex

decorating...
it's your chance to show your individuality and you can go in so many directions with it..

Definitely the decorating! I love coming up with an idea and seeing it come alive!

October 11 | Unregistered CommenterSamantha

Absolutely, positively the decorating!!!

I started baking cause I loved the baking part, but my decorating love quickly took over and decorating the cake far surpassed my love for baking.

Thats why I call myself a cake decorator. Not a cake baker. :D

I love the baking, still trying on the decorating.

October 11 | Unregistered CommenterAnonymous

That's definitely a hard call. I have SUCH a sweet tooth so I know that "testing" the treat is always an exciting time. But tasting the decorating supplies is also tasty! Hmm. I'll have to go with baking! I have been and ALWAYS will be one of those people who taste tests the raw cookie dough or cake batter before it goes in the oven. Whoops!

I enjoy baking when I'm creating a new, original recipe, and if there's someone there to wash the dishes afterwards. Otherwise, it's the decorating I love! I've been a cake artist/sculptor for many years and am positively in my element in a quiet studio with my fondant, tools, edible paints and dusts, and no limits!
