Decorating, though I often skip it. It gets pricey when you consider a cupcake tastes the same without sprinkles (though not without frosting!).

Eating is my favourite part of making cakes! I do like making them look pretty too :)

If I had to choose between those two things, I'd say the decorating part. But my favorite part is actually the process of getting the vision for what you want to do, and then researching for inspiration. Seeing it all come together before you ever start baking is so much fun!

The baking--the therapeutic mixing, the licking of the mixers--is the best!!! (And, of course, the eating!)

definitely the baking part - all my treats are made with love... using great ingredients, licking the bowl, sampling goodies warm, and sharing with friends and family.

Of course decorating because you can be as creative as you want and there is no limit!

Decorating! Last weekend I spent hours with my 5 year old niece making decorated sugar cookies. She had such a fabulous time!

For me the baking is the most exciting part. I love cake when it's in "naked" form, without frosting, fillings, and toppings. I like being able to savor the delicate flavors of all the spices and special ingredients that went into the batter before. Don't get me wrong, a cake all dressed up in chocolate buttercream is heaven, but being able to distinguish the secret red wine ingredient when the cake comes fresh out of the oven is something else.

I love both the baking and the decorating, but I think I get more joy out of the decorating!

I like both sides of it- the baking appeals to my practical side, and the decorating appeals to my creative side that feels the need to make everything pretty. What I don't like is cleaning up the kitchen!

Baking is my favorite part!!

Oooooh...if it can't be the "eating" part, then it has to be baking! The anticipation of getting to actually taste (or CONSUME) the final product is intense!

the baking for sure. i'm not patient enough to decorate very pretty! :)

Baking in my favorite part! I'm a process person. It's relaxing to me. :o)

Baking. I LIKE the decorating part, but am not very good at it yet (and lack the patience!).

While I love to decorate, baking is fun and the most important. I believe if a cake doesn't taste amazing, it doesn't matter how great it's decorated.

decorating.

Decorating! For sure!

Baking if they are made from scratch! Then its a challenge for them to turn out right and if your trying a new recipie, to taste good!

But if its a mix, then decoration in fun ways is always great. Unless of course your creative energy is gone...then its just tourture!

Umm sampling the batter! And then, the decorating! I love seeing my idea take life on the cake!
