Sweet Giveaway: Macaron Art!

Guess what? It's that special time of year when CakeSpy's Head Spy Jessie celebrates her birthday. Booyea!

What does that mean for you, though? Well, if you're in Seattle, it means that there will be free birthday cake every day this week (Tue-Sun) at the CakeSpy Shop! First come first served.

But even if you're not in Seattle you can enter to win some totally sweet stuff! There will be giveaways all week, starting with this super sweet prize pack, perfect for macaron lovers: a miniature original watercolor CakeSpy painting (the original! Not a print!) of macarons and burger hanging out, and the cutest crochet macaron you've ever seen, made by the lovely and amazing Alicia Kachmar!

Want to put yourself in the running? Simply put your answer to the important baked-good question below in the comments section below. This giveaway will close on Sunday, August 29 at 12 p.m. PST, and the winner will be contacted shortly after. US and Canada entries only this time, please!

I think so! They are adorable!

No. I think whoopie pies are becoming the new cupcake, though I really don't think the cupcake is quite done yet.

August 25 | Unregistered CommenterKendra

yes, cupcakes are great, but the fad is starting to die out.... here come the macarons!!

August 25 | Unregistered CommenterDani

Happy birthday! I don't think macarons are ready just yet to be the new cupcake. But they sure are cute!

Nothing can replace a cupcake...plus I've never had a macaroon! I want to try one though. :)

Happy Birthday!! No I think cupcakes will rule for a very long time!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterMaria

Nope, a macaroon will never be a cupcake

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterTeri

Cupcakes will live long and prosper and macaroons will be just a flash in the pan.

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterRain

I don't think they'll necessarily replace cupcakes, but they will become they're own hit within their own separate category.

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterCarolyn

They are certainly cute enough to give the cupcakes a good run for their money!!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterDancing Shoes

No, not the new cupcake, but maybe a close cousin.
Love them.
Happy Birthday.

I thought macaroons might be the new cupcake, but after long consideration I have come to the conclusion that Pies are going to be the new cupcake!!!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa Calvin

No, I think macarons flavors are not as diverse as cupcakes, although they are very tasty. As another comment mentioned, there is the nut factor. Woopie Pies are gaining popularity, probably more appealing to the general public than macarons. Happy Birthday!

Not JUST the "new cupcake" but the more AWESOME cupcake, the "I can eat MORE of them and not feel like a giant cow" cupcake and the "I can't stop buying them!" cupcake. :)

August 26 | Unregistered Commenterbbcaddict

Umm no macaroons are NOT the new cupcake. It`s still cupcakes! Cupcakes rule! Cupcakes Rock! Oh now I`m hungry.....

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterMarcy Divers

No, Cupcakes rule!! Just not the same, sorry!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterLauri

I think that macarons and cupcakes are such different animals that one could never replace the other. Sure, more people are warming to the macaron's delicate texture, exotic flavors and petite size, but cupcakes will always be the symbol of childhood (particularly in America!) and celebratory decadence. Personally, I like macaron's in moderation... I can only have a couple of bites before maxing out on the sweetness. Cupcakes however can vary so widely in flavor, type of frosting, type of cake, that they have more staying power for me! So, I guess I'm Team Cupcake! Num num num!!!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterLummie

Meh, no way, cupcakes are still the biggest trendiest desert!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterAshlee

Nothing will ever replace cupcakes!!

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterLauren

Macarons are tasty but I have never had a craving for a macaron. Now cupcakes....it's difficult to think of a day that did not begin and end with me wanting a cupcake.

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterSarah

i sure hope not, I love cupcakes! I can't imagine a cartoon macaron being very popular :)

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterOlivia

yes, I believe they are. And I love them, so that's o.k. in my book.

August 26 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

Sure!

Never! Nothing will replace the cupcake for me, but I do love mararons too.
