For me, what must be one of the most compelling dessert scenes is the notorious "Strudel Scene" in Inglorious Bastards, in which Nazi slime Landa condescendingly orders a warm apple strudel, vulgarly chomps on some of it, while the audience is treated to close ups, then in a final vular act, stamps out his cigarette in said strudel. The strudel is virtually a character in the scene, so seductive and steaming.

Hmmmm...........they didn't convey it as well in the animated series as well as the books, but all the Redwall books have AMAZING food!
My favorite isn't technically a movie, it's the Chris Farley impression of the angry teenage girl eating with her friends in the mall food court..."LAY OFF ME, I'M STARVING!!!!'
Steel Magnolia and the Red Velvet Armadillo Cake. Priceless!
I'll stick with a classic - "Leave the gun, take the canoli." Thanks for a great giveaway!

Elf when Buddy pours Maples Syrup on everything "Is there sugar in syrup?"
alllll of Julie & Julia. haha!
The pie scene in When Harry Met Sally!
In Season 6 of Friends, Rachel makes a traditional English trifle only she screws it up by adding beef to all the layers. It's a hilarious episode and that is definitely one of my favorite food scenes. I know it's not technically a movie cause it's a TV show, but nothing has beaten that yet!
I love the scene in Ponyo when the children see dry noodles, ham, and an uncooked egg go into a bowl. Hot water is added and a lid is put on--a few moments later all of the ingredients have magically transformed into something else all together!
It really captures the innocence of children as well as trying different foods for the first time.
I am a HUGE "Breakfast at Tiffany's" fan, and I just love the scene when Holly Golightly, in a grand attempt at domestication, cooks chicken with rice in a pressure cooker. She clumsily tosses a salad, feeling so proud and accomplished, only to watch her main dish explode accross the kitchen! So befitting of her character!
I think all of the scenes with food in Chocolat were incredible. The best, though, was Judy Dench sipping the hot chocolate with chile powder... you can almost taste it yourself!
I loved the movie "Julie and Julia", all the scenes where Julie is trying to recreate Julia's dishes.
But my favorite one has to be when she is dealing with the lobster's and she is trying to kill them and her husband keeps on joking with her.
Great movie! Can't wait to see this one!
The bedroom scene in Hot Shots with Charlie Sheen...classic!
I love the scene in "A Christmas Story" when the mother is trying to get the younger son to eat his dinner, and convinces him to eat it like a little piggy, so he's snorting and giggling and making a mess while spooning mashed potatoes into his face!
I know I'm posting a comment too late for the drawing, but have to say my favorite is either the final five minutes of Big Night in which Stanley Tucci and his brother (forgot his name!) make and eat scrambled eggs in absolute silence.
And almost any scene from Mostly Martha--the original German movie.
Well, any movie that features food, food scenes, eating scenes, recipes...has my attention! hahhaha But I have to say, my favs are the ones in "Like water for Chocolate" where everything thing she makes takes on the emotion of her character and any that eat the food feel that same feeling. Brilliant! I love how tightly it ties into our subliminal thoughts of food and activities or memories.
Definitely the scene in When Harry Met Sally where she orders the apple pie... What can I say, I'm an "on the side girl" too!
Ok, my favourite scene isn't so much about drooling over the delectable food as it is about playing with your food. It's the diner scene in Benny and Joon when Sam makes the dinner rolls dance.
The first thing I thought of is The Big Chill--but more the scene when they're cleaning up and putting the leftovers away and dancing.
My favorite "sweet" scene is from the movie "Marie Antoinette" when the girls are being served all types of colorful cakes and desserts!
I adore Maggie Gyllenhaal in Stranger Than Fiction. She makes me proud to be a tattooed baker. The scene where she "forces" Will Ferrell to eat a cookie, and then goes on to recite all the recipes she created in college, oh I could listen to her read that list all day long!
