Cake Poll: Oops, Make that a Cookie Poll!

Time for another poll!
It's that unique time of year that summer starts to fade into early fall; the skies are a piercing blue, days are getting shorter, and school's back in session. Even those who are long out of school are not impervious to the allure of this season, nostalgically recalling the excitement newness of a new school year, punctuated by freshly sharpened pencils and maybe a brand new trapper keeper. And what else goes better with back to school time than milk and cookies at the end of the day?

And so, this month our Cake Poll is not about cake, but rather cookies--and the winner will get the framed original painting, featuring Cuppie and Robot making cookies, featured above! Responses may be entered in the comments section or emailed to jessieoleson@gmail.com.

  1. What is your favorite type of cookie?
  2. Oatmeal Cookies: With raisins, or chocolate chips?
  3. Dunking your cookies: Deliciousness, or a soggy mess?
  4. Slice n' bake cookies: Guilty pleasure, or never ever?
  5. Jumbo bakery cookies: too much, or just enough?
  6. Bar cookies: are they really cookies, or a different category entirely?
  7. Which is better: Slightly underbaked or slightly overbaked?
  8. Eating cookie dough: so wrong, or so right?

The fine print: The poll will be closed at 2 p.m PST on Thursday, September 4 (we're leaving it open for a week since we hope many of you are avoiding your computers over the holiday weekend!). As usual, the winner will be chosen at random. Entries from the US and beyond are welcome. Your info will never be shared and these questions are solely motivated by our nosy spy tendencies. Of course, if you don't win, you can always buy Cakespy artwork and gear at jessieoleson.etsy.com!

Time for a new poll--and a new prize!

1-No bake cookies (are those really cookies?) although any cookies that include chocolate are inherently awesome
2-Chocolate chips! Raisins are evil, only appropriate as a vehicle for chocolate
3-Deliciousness
4-Guilty pleasure when raw!
5-Just enough, and a taste for later!
6-I think they are really cookies! But then, see what I said for #1...
7-Slightly underbaked...mmmm....
8-Oh so right!!

1. What is your favorite type of cookie? Which one is in front of me? I'm a cookie egalitarian.

2. Oatmeal Cookies: With raisins, or chocolate chips? Chocolate chips. Definitely chocolate chips. But if you add dried currants with the chocolate chips, I'll be your best friend forever.

3. Dunking your cookies: Deliciousness, or a soggy mess? Depends on the cookeie. Biscotti? Dunk 'em! Chocolate chip? Depends on my mood. Spritz? Too soggy.

4.Slice n' bake cookies: Guilty pleasure, or never ever? Never ever. My KitchenAid stand mixer would hire a hit man.

5. Jumbo bakery cookies: too much, or just enough? Just enough of too much.

6. Bar cookies: are they really cookies, or a different category entirely? Who cares? If you let me eat them, I'll agree with your opinion on the matter.

7. Which is better: Slightly underbaked or slightly overbaked? There's a reason nobody makes 'Overbaked Cookie Dough' as an ice cream flavor, if you get my drift.

8. Eating cookie dough: so wrong, or so right? So wrong it's deliciously right.

this is so silly...<3

1. My hands down, if i was to die at this moment i would like to be baked into a batch of these, favorite cookie is Molasses. How can you go wrong? They chewy and substantial but the flavor isn't so over powering that it would drown out a delicious glass of milk.
2. With raisins and walnuts so i can pretend they're better for me than they actually are.
3. A delicious Soggy mess! Store bought cookies i let practically fall off in my milk and then i drink it. Homemade usually stay solid but are almost juicy with milk...mmm i'm salivating just thinking about it.
4. Slice and bake are alright but never really satisfy my craving for something bad for me. I do however like to eat around the shapes that are in them.
5. I could easily eat two of those on a good day and not feel bad. I think its the dollar a cookie price that is my biggest obstacle. Seeing as thats about how much it costs for a whole batch
6. Who cares they're delicious! the candy bar of the cookie arena.
7. slightly over baked. i love i nice slightly burnt cookie.
8. There was a period in my childhood where i wasnt allowed to lick the beaters and then i was. It was like prohibition had been appealed for the kids. so right. if its wrong...well then i dont want to be right.

1. Just one? Hmmm....I guess this almond biscotti that my aunt's future mother-in-law makes...they're dusted in icing sugar (powdered sugar...whatever you guys in the USA call it! LOL), and they either have almonds or cherries on top. At Easter, she put Easter eggs on top, which was nice :)

2. Oatmeal cookies with choc chips please :)

3. I guess it depends on two things... a) the kind of cookie, and b) what you're dunking it in :P

4. Honestly, I've never bought any Slice n' Bake! :)

5. Haven't had one in a long time..so I can't really answer this one :(

6. Excuse my ignorance...but what are bar cookies? I'm not sure if we have them here in Australia...and if we do, they're not called "bar cookies"! :) [Technically, we don't call our cookies "cookies", we call them biscuits...LOL]

7. Slightly underbaked, then they're a little gooey, rather than hard (I almost broke a tooth on a really hard overbaked cookie..not good)

8. Oh, definitely so right!! But we don't bake cookies much, so I don't get to experience this right-ness too often.
