My favorite Thanksgiving dessert EVER is Paula Deen's Pumpkin Pie. Its pretty much the most amazing thing I've ever tasted, and its just that much better when you make it yourself.
My favorite Christmas cookies are those little tins of Danish Shortbread. They're delish. I don't know the recipe though!

Christmas: Decorated sugar cookies or Snickerdoodles ("fancy" sugar cookies, I guess :-))
My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is the figgy bar from the Fat Free Vegan Kitchen here: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2006/08/skinny-figgy-bars.html
And my favorite Christmas cookie... hmm.. I'd have to say, gingerbread cookies. I love ginger in baked goods. (http://www.fatfreevegan.com/desserts/gingerbread_cookies.shtml)
So fun!
My fave Thanksgiving dessert is this cake (I know it's not very Thanksgivingy, but I make it every year for my brother's bday, which always falls right around Thanksgiving).

Thanksgiving...My nieces and I make pies of their choosing together, so it is usually something new. My favorite isn't very seasonal: lime coconut buttermilk pie with fresh whipped cream.
Christmas cookie? Shortbread or anything from a cookie press.
Ooooh! Deliciousness!

I want those adorable holiday cards! My favorite thanksgiving dessert is cold pumpkin pie with candied pecans thrown on top and slathered in soyatoo whipped cream.
Christmas cookie=can whoopie pies with mint icing in the middle count as a cookie or is that really just a cake in the guise of a cookie?
Cool questions!
My fave Thanksgiving dessert is pumpkin pie squares. I made them a few weeks back on my blog:
http://thecuttingedgeofordinary.blogspot.com/2008/09/pumpkin-pie-dessert-squares.html
There like a cross between pumpkin pie and a cake.
Christmas - I have a new fave now. Soft Molasses Cookies. The best cookie I have ever made. Check them out here:
http://thecuttingedgeofordinary.blogspot.com/2008/09/soft-molasses-cookies.html
My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is crumb-top apple pie, cold, with vanilla soy ice cream! Link to the pie here: http://veganplanet.blogspot.com/2008/10/apple-pie-is-apple-pie.html
My favorite xmas cookie is the Mexcian Wedding Cake/Russian Tea Cake! So yummy. Link to cookies (same cookies, different name) here: http://www.veganexplosion.com/#entry_27
Although I prefer mine with walnuts!
My favorite Christmas cookie is the sugar cookies from Joy of Baking! http://www.joyofbaking.com/SugarCookie.html
Although, my mom always added cinnamon to these cookies, so they were more of a cinnamon/sugar cookie, and instead of icing, she'd put sprinkles on tops, and we'd have to flatten them before baking so that they were super thin. like a cracker. crispy thin cookies with sprinkles. But the recipe was definitly from the Joy of Cooking--OldeSchool.
My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is apple pie. I didn't have pie until, like, 10 years ago, because we were always a cake family. But once I had pie...oh, boy. I learned how to make a great pie and haven't stopped. I like this recipe for Dutch Apple Pie (http://dutchfood.about.com/od/breadspastriescookies/r/ApplePie.htm)
but I am not a super-de-duper fan of the cognac inside, so I'd probably leave it out. Also, I'd add in some strawberries. Because apple + strawberry + pie + vanilla ice cream is about the super greatest thing I can imagine.
My favorite thanksgiving dessert recipe before i went vegan was the America's Test Kitchen recipe for pumpkin cheesecake (AMAZING! http://www.americastestkitchen.com/cookstv/preview/default.asp?req=1&station=mainChannel&video=s5/pumpkincheesecake ). If i ever figure out how to veganize it, i'll probably die of happiness.
My favorite christmas dessert is cut out gingerbread cookies (a la this recipe: http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=196 )
I like to cut them into non-traditional shapes. Particularly dinosaurs and ducks. Delicious!
1. Hmm, I think apple pie. A wonderful classic.
2. The super messy cut out sugar cookies I make with my mom, who dreads every second of it!
Thanksgiving dessert: Butterscotch Pumpkin pie (from the most recent Bon Appetit -- I blogged about it here: http://ndlawwife.blogspot.com/2008/11/pumpkin-butterscotch-pie.html)
Christmas cookie: That's a really hard one. I love ALL cookies. Favorite is probably a classic snickerdoodle like these: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Mrs-Siggs-Snickerdoodles/Detail.aspx
Thanksgiving dessert would be an Apple Cranberry Ribbon Pie -- the perfect amount of tart and sweet. Plus, the left over cranberry spread makes a wonderful snack on crackers; almost like a chutney.
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Cranberry-Ribbon-Apple-Pie-108854
Christmas cookie would have to be a classic ginger snap.
Oh! How does one narrow it down?
1. Home made butter mints! But this year I'll be making sour cream apple pie.
2. Our little family favorite is making a clone version of the Girl Scout Thin Mints. They freeze well (actually they are very yummy straight from the freezer) so we've made them in advance and given them as gifts. http://food.ivillage.com/recipefinder/display/0,,hr1h,00.html
But last year we made gingerbread trains and turns out the recipe was super too! http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/feature/ff1106-gingerbread-train/
Sorry I couldn't narrow it down very well!
I happen to have my own cupcake tote from Penguinbot, and it's AWESOME! I get a ton of compliments on it, and it's very well made. :) But I'd still like another one...
1) Tollhouse Pie. Like a giant, warm chocolate chip cookie
2) Snickerdoodles!
1. My favorite t-day dessert is pumpkin pie!
2. My favorite Christmas cookie is the italian cuccidati cookie.
Mmm..soo good! What a fun giveaway!
1. What is your favorite Thanksgiving dessert? I have two favorite desserts on Thanksgiving one is apple pie served warm with ice cream and the other is mocha moose.
2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie? My grandmother's sugar cookies.
For the past couple of years I have been making tofu-pumpkin pie and it has become my new favorite! Don't worry you cant taste the tofu at all.
You basically just replace the eggs and milk with a bit of pureed tofu.
My favorite Christmas cookie would have to be spritz cookies of all flavors, especially almond. When I was a kid we would bake tons of these cookies!
