Cake Poll: Baking Vs. Eating Preferences

It's July, and high time for a sweet giveaway! This time, Carolyn's Kitchen, a very cool company which designs retro-inspired aprons and kitchen accessories, has kindly donated one of their fashionable aqua cupcake aprons (retail value $42!) for the giveaway. I hope I don't need to tell you that this is a totally awesome prize.
How do you put your name in the running? It's easy. Just satisfy my curiosity about sweet preferences. Is what you like to bake the same as what you like to eat? Or are they different? Just answer the following in the comments section below and you'll be entered in the running!
*Please note this giveaway is only open to US Residents. The Cake Poll will close on Monday, July 6 at 12 p.m. PST, and the winner will be contacted for their size/address/info shortly thereafter. If you'd like to shop at Carolyn's Kitchen in the meantime, click here!

I like to eat what I bake (half the fun is eating it!) I always have to make extra if I am baking for some one else. I like to bake, cookies, pie, and sweet bread.
I like to eat all of the above but also cake but I just dont make it that often. I also like to eat donuts and French pastries but those are hard to make so I dont.
I love baking what other people love! So, while I myself may be less fond of, say, cheesecake in comparison to brownies, I will opt for the the former (in all its labor-intensive glory) if I know I will be enjoying the company of a friend who loves, loves, loves cheesecake.
As far as what my favorite desserts to eat are, I tend to be fairly simple in my tastes. I adore cookies (so straightforward and infinitely adaptable, although I admit to having a soft spot for chocolate chip) and, often times, fresh fruit is more than enough to satisfy my craving for something sweet and delicious after a meal (handfuls of blueberries? cut & chilled strawberries? ripened mangoes? those totally count as desserts in my book!).
I love to bake cakes and corn bread.
I love to eat cinnamon rolls, but rarely get the chance since I don't know how to bake with yeast yet.
How Fun!
I like to bake my mom's recipe for Apple Bars with local honeycrisp apples. And for neighborhood get togethers, Chocolate Caramel Bars.
I loooove to eat anything with the word dessert or pastry attached to it! Chocolate, cakes, buttercream frosting, streudels, cherry pie, apple pie, pumpkin crunch, caramel rolls, Red cake, I could go on and on....
favorite to make would definitely be cakes! Favorite to eat...eclairs.
Well I pretty much only bake what I like to eat except for pie, I love pie!!! However pie doesn't love me, or the pie crust I should say. It always turns out like concrete or cardboard sadly. I need pie crust making lessons. :( However I make excellent Christmas cookies, of all varieties.
i love to bake just about anything and--unless i have a special request--if i bake it, it is because i want to eat or try it!
i especially love baking (and eating) cheesecakes and anything w/cream cheese!
I love to make big layer cakes and cookies, but my favorite to eat is creme brulee. I try not to make it a lot at home because I would eat way too much of it!
ooh oooh! It's always fun getting something free in the mail :D.
I love baking pretty much anything...it's hard to pic a fav. Funny thing is, I looove cake but I'm not very good at decorating them so I usually eat them before I even get to frost 'em :P.
My favorite baked good to make is a vanilla cake with simple, homemade chocolate frosting- the kind with just butter/cocoa/powdered sugar...hmm
Then my favorite baked good to eat is a cupcake!! Chocolate with vanilla icing- must be a buttercream that is sugary. Now I want one!!
I like to make cakes. The best part about it is the decorating process. Once you have spent so many hours decorating and smelling the aroma of the buttercream and fondant, you will not want to eat it anymore.
My favorite dessert is definitely... hmmmm I can't really think. Hmmmm... maybe...maybe... Well I like cheesecakes but not too much. I don't think I have a favorite dessert.
My favorite thing to bake right now is a blueberry buttermilk cake. It's also my favorite baked good to eat right now. I love when blueberries are in season!
Most of the things I love to bake are things I love to eat... and more often than not involve chocolate in some shape or form. Recently my most favorite thing to bake are Bakerella's cupcake bites! Also my grandmother's Texas sheetcake recipe. I love to bake for other people so I'm not tempted to eat the goods all by myself... and it's just fun! :)
I love to make Martha Stewart's pinwheel cookies. They are fun and a good "showy" thing to bring anywhere.
Tasty as they are though, one of my favorite things to eat is a good old bakery cake. The kind that should be disgusting to bakers like us. But I just love the overly-sugary buttercream frosting. I can't replicate it at home as I don't have their "bad" ingredients in my kitchen.
Favorite to bake is definitely cookies! They're easy and quick and fun to make with my daughters. Favorite to eat ~ cake!
My favorite thing to bake is all kinds of enormous cakes and pies, as well as baked oatmeal- mmmmm. My favorite to eat is more boring to cook- granola bars and cookies mostly!
My favorite things to make and eat are the same! I like to make scratch chocolate cupcakes with hershey's special dark frosting.
I also like to eat apple pies, which are a pain to make because of all the apple peeling.
I definitely like to eat what I bake! Why not?! That lets me know if I like it and will want to bake it again. Then if others like it as well, then it becomes a staple.
Right now, my favorite baked good or dessert to make would be my homemade banana pudding and/or homemade chocolate chip cookies! I actually have been told I'm bringing my banana pudding to a 4th of July party this weekend, and it is something my dad requests quite often!
My favorite baked good or dessert to eat would probably be almost anything. I absolutely love the Taste of Texas' chocolate cake! I come from a family of sweet tooths, so I will try pretty much anything once. I'm not a fan of hard cookies, though. Buttercream or cream cheese frostings are my favorite for cake! I'm partial to a really good key lime pie, and love my Grandma's cobbler! That's just to name a few!
Clearly the best food in the world is cheese, in most of its many incarnations. So definitely my favorite foods to EAT are cheesy, including desserts. And yes, they are also my favorite to bake, although there aren't very many of them I know how to bake. Cheesecake is the obvious one, but I also make a really nice knafa, which is a Middle Eastern dessert with cheese, filo dough, and rose-water syrup. Yum!
I love to bake cupcakes, cookies, cakes, crips, cobblers, (I'm on a C roll).
I love to eat cupcakes. Haven't met a cupcake yet that I haven't liked. I'll keep searching tho.
I love to bake cupcakes (of course, they are just so cute) and I love to eat chocolate chip cookies!
I like to bake most things, but my favourite to bake is, of course, cupcakes! They are cute and tiny and I absolutely love to decorate them. I feel like I can be most creative with cupcakes.
I like a cupcake now and then, I won't lie. But I can certainly resist the temptation. I can't, however, resist chocolate chip cookies and brownies. I like to bake them when I want something simple and fairly quick, but they aren't something I bake to exercise my creativity or really de-stress; but boy do they cause a problem for my waistline!
Cupcakes are my very favorite sweet to bake, right behind cookies that is. My favorite to eat? Hmmmmmm, cheesecake! Thank you. The apron is delightful! ~Kelly
I love to bake anything! Especially cakes, however I have to eat gluten free so sometimes I don't get to eat what I bake. But I love to bake so much it doesn't matter!
My favorite thing to make is actually cupcakes. I love it!
My favorite dessert to eat is actually ice cream, which, fortunately, goes really well with cupcakes! :-)
