Book of the week: Huckleberry: Stories, Secrets, and Recipes From Our Kitchen. I had my first cronut last week! Well, technically, they had to call it a croissant donut because it wasn't official. I was a skeptic, but no more! Holy smoke, that was good!

Next stop is proper Scottish shortbread. My attempts at shortbread are good, but I never quite get the right texture.

Thanks for the brownies in a pumpkin mention! :)
