Sweet Giveaway: Win a Copy of Rosie's All-Butter Fresh Cream Sugar-Packed Baking Book

Hey! You! Want to win something sweet for your sweetie this Valentine's Day?

Well, are you ever in luck: I've got a copy of Rosie's All-Butter Fresh Cream Sugar-Packed Baking Book to give away. As you remember, I recently featured the recipe for Chocolate Delirium from this book.

Now, Valentine's Day is very special to bakery proprietress Judy Rosenberg--Valentine’s Day 1974 is the anniversary of the first cookies that Judy made that put her into the business. Le nom!

So what do you have to do to enter to win?

It's easy. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post (comments are moderated, so don't panic if it doesn't show up right away!) with your response to the below question. But before I get to that, some important contest notes. CakeSpy Note: The giveaway will close on February 14, Valentine's Day, at 12pm PST. The randomly chosen winner will be contacted privately afterward. Because this prize is being donated and shipped by the publisher, they have requested that this giveaway be open to US entrants only. But I'd still love to hear your memories, foreign friends!

OK! That having been said, the question to answer to enter:

What is your favorite Valentine's Day dessert memory?

Oh man, making jello hearts when I was a kid and then with some of my preschool kids. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Granted it's not one of my favorite desserts by far but it does make people happy!

I served my man bacon-whiskey cake last year. I took it out of the oven thinking it had finished baking, and within seconds the center of the cake fell. Huge crater in teh center of the cake! I "fixed" it by filling it with maple whiskey sauce. Voila, extra booze, and extra love!

I'm having a cookbook giveaway, too! http://wallopingteaspoon.wordpress.com/2012/02/06/guinness-braised-lamb-shanks-a-giveaway/

I am rosie, by the way, so this book is after my name! haha. anyways, when i was younger, every year we would all go to school and walk around the classroom handing everyone in class a piece of candy with their name on it. when i came home from school, i would have a bag full of candy from all my classmates! oh the wonderful times of elementary school, ahh.
xo,
rosie

My favorite Valentine's dessert memory is when I woke up the morning of not expecting anything special to happen as I trudged to eat a normal breakfast of cereal. However, hidden behind the many boxes of cereal sitting at the table was my all-time favorite thing in the world; a Krispy Kreme glazed donut with chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles. I couldn't help but cry out as I dug my tastebuds into the soft, gooiness and went on to eat the rest of the donuts in the fridge. Too bad those were expected to last all week for the rest of the family. ;D I love you, Mom.

Ages ago, in college, my boyfriend and I went out for Valentine's Day to one of the nicer restaurants in town. They had a lovely greenhouse-esque roof and we watched as the sun set and the stars came out and ordered rounds of scotch to taste with our dessert...simple and elegant, Creme Brulee!

My favorite valentine's day dessert memory would have to be a couple years ago when a girl friend and I were both single. We decided to go out to dinner together since we had no other plans to a Chinese restaurant. When we received our fortune cookies they both had love-related fortunes. We thought for sure they must have been rigged, so we got two more but were not love related at all. Fun coincidence!

My favourite Valentine's dessert memory was three years ago, being the first one I spent with my current boyfriend. He was studying music in Montreal and I flew out to stay with him over Feb break. We Had a great time exploring Montreal. I made my favourite chocolate fudge cake recipe and he made fettucini alfredo for our Valentine's day supper.

Back in the 80s my brother and I were always presented with Muppets cupcakes from the bakery down the street - usually Miss Piggy for me and Kermit or Fozzie for him.
This along with valentine's cards from our parents.
Great memories!
