Sugarlicious: A Blog Tour and Giveaway

It's official: we have a tie.

Not that there was a contest, of course, but I have to concede that when it comes to Most Adorable Book Ever, I think that  my book now has to share the title with Sugarlicious , the newest release by Meaghan Mountford of The Decorated Cookie and Edible Crafts Gossip. I'm happy to share the title, though, because it truly is delicious, and the author is totally sweet.

Here's some info about the book:

Sugarlicious is filled with over 200 colorful pages of ideas for decorating cute and clever sweets, including cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay. You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

And here's some proof of the cuteness:

And you can win a copy, along with other awesome stuff! The prize is a copy of Sugarlicious and the prize pack (photo attached), which includes a Sugarlicious apron, hot pink oven mitt, spatula, post-it notes, and a little recipe booklet.

How do you enter? It's so easy. You just leave a comment on this post and tell me about either the cutest dessert you've ever made OR eaten! You get entered TWICE if you post a link to a recipe or photo of it!

The winner will be chosen at random next Saturday, February 18; due to shipping fees, we are only able to offer this giveaway to US and Canadian entrants. If you can't wait to see if you won, you can buy Sugarlicious here. Good luck!

Cutest dessert I ever ate was probably a cake my mom made and decorated for my preschool graduation. It was a bear with a graduation cap. Obviously this was a long time ago, but I still remember it well. :)

My baked goods are rarely cute. I purchase other baked goods for cuteness. I one had the teeniest whoopie pie imaginable (think nickel size). What is it about teeny desserts that makes them so adorable?

For cutest dessert, I made Pooh bear cookies for my daughter's birthday party.

The cutest dessert I've ever eaten was gingerbread cookies decorated like Sesame Street characters.
One of the cutest things I've made was when my daughter was younger for her & my niece's birthday I made a princess castle cake. It was huge and had upside down ice cream cones for turrets and lots of sparkly candy all over it.

I can't decide whether marzipan piglets are more fun to make or eat, especially if they're on top of strawberry cupcakes covered in chocolate icing "mud". :)

What a sweet giveaway! The cutest dessert I ever ate was a delicious concoction of cool whip, pudding and gummy worms sprinkled with oreo cookie crumbs, which my brother-in-law served in a flower pot, way back in the day (20 years ago! I can't believe it!) when that kind of dessert was just new. At least I think it was new. I'd never heard of it before. I was 18 then, and my hubby (then 18 too) slaved in the kitchen all day with his brother to make a delicious meal for us and a couple of friends. The dessert sat in the middle of the dining room table the whole time. This terracot pot of fake flowers. Which was kind of tacky looking, I thought. But went with the decor in the rest of the house. And when my brother-in-law pulled out the flowers to served dessert? Totally surprise and delight (oh gosh, now I sound 80!) around the table. Cute AND delicious. Must make it for our kiddies (4 and 2) one day soon. :)

Probably the cutest treat I have created where mini bumblebee cupcakes for my friend's baby shower. It was Winnie the Pooh themed so I made A LOT of mini cupcakes and arranged them on a tray to look like a beehive and then made lil' marzipan bees to put on several of the cupcakes!

I made some super duper cute Hello Kitty cake pops for my friend for her birthday a few years ago. it was humid as all get out and the food marker melted off their poor little hello kitty faces, so they really looked like white cake pops with pointy ears. :)

hopefully this link works!

My son asked for "mint chocolate" grinch cupcakes for his family party, and for his friend birthday, he got truffula trees on the cupcakes, made of cotton candy. Or Horton's Clover, for the kids that hadn't been read the Lorax (the travesty!) I thought they were pretty cute!

The cutest dessert I've eaten was at a bakery that sold cakes that looked like a slice of watermelon, small cakes that took two bites (or one big bite) to eat, and all types of fluffy and delicious breads and cakes. The one I liked the most was the checkerboard cake they made there (I LOVE checkered patterns) that had three flavors! It had a distinct flavor of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, but didn't overpower each other. The cutest dessert I made were checkerboard cookies, which also tasted AMAZING after it was baked and when it was cooling :). I ate so much and I had a lot left over for my friends and family to eat also!

I would have to say I eat a lot of pretty and beautiful things, but the cutest would have to be the cupcakes from my niece's 2nd birthday party. They were elmo. So cute! Here's a link:

Cutest I ever made was a Death Star cake baked in a two piece globe cake pan. Any photos are lost to history. Cutest I ate is the frog pastry at Larsen's Danish Bakery. Pink pastry cream inside! http://www.larsensbakery.com/index.php
