Sugarlicious: A Blog Tour and Giveaway

It's official: we have a tie.

Not that there was a contest, of course, but I have to concede that when it comes to Most Adorable Book Ever, I think that  my book now has to share the title with Sugarlicious , the newest release by Meaghan Mountford of The Decorated Cookie and Edible Crafts Gossip. I'm happy to share the title, though, because it truly is delicious, and the author is totally sweet.

Here's some info about the book:

Sugarlicious is filled with over 200 colorful pages of ideas for decorating cute and clever sweets, including cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay. You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

And here's some proof of the cuteness:

And you can win a copy, along with other awesome stuff! The prize is a copy of Sugarlicious and the prize pack (photo attached), which includes a Sugarlicious apron, hot pink oven mitt, spatula, post-it notes, and a little recipe booklet.

How do you enter? It's so easy. You just leave a comment on this post and tell me about either the cutest dessert you've ever made OR eaten! You get entered TWICE if you post a link to a recipe or photo of it!

The winner will be chosen at random next Saturday, February 18; due to shipping fees, we are only able to offer this giveaway to US and Canadian entrants. If you can't wait to see if you won, you can buy Sugarlicious here. Good luck!

I started cake decorating in the past year, so the cutest deserts I have had have definitely been my decorated cakes! In order I have made so far a Buzz Lightyear, Dreidel cakes, "Happily Ever After" bride and groom in Cinderella's coach, Elmo jumping out of a cake he "colored", Big Bird, Pirate hat, pirate boy face, Teddy bear merry go round, rocking horse, turkey cake, pilgrim faces, rainbow cakes with real and chocolate dreidels on top, dancing dreidel with buttercream transfer, Lightening McQueen, and a cake with fondant flowers, and a cake with fondant ribbons and buttons. I mostly use boxed mixes. The decorating is what I am after.

My favorite cake was one my mother made for my sister's 5th birthday (I got to plan the party for about 10 five-year-olds). It was a ladybug - complete with deep red frosting and black spots. And several messy faces going home :)

The cutest dessert I've made are Thanksgiving turkeys. You glue a chocolate covered cherry to the back of a fudge stripe cookie to help it stand on end for the feathers, then put on a candy corn for the beak with a bit of frosting.

The cutest dessert I've ever made and actually have a picture of is a cupcake pop dedicated to a friend who moved over three thousand miles away... oh boy do I miss her!

My super talented Sis-in-law created a cake that was covered with life like purple butterfiles. It was so amazing.

The cutest dessert I ever ate was a pink champagne cupcake... that I had as my breakfast! :)

The cutest dessert I've ever eaten was a green-velvet cupcake with with a "hat" of frosting, a "yellow brick road" of drizzle leading up to it, with two rasberries (red ruby slippers" in honor of Wicked (the musical!), and a cookie witch's hat in honor of the musical Wicked!!!

The cutest dessert I've ever made was an extra-moist chocolate layer cake with a dyed-green vanilla buttercream frosting, decorated with frosting for the yards, a giant "G", and posts on both side to look like a football field for last year's Superbowl. It must've been good luck because the Packers won!!!

I love whenever I make a tiramisu layer cake. It's got three layers, with the middle layer darker (thanks to expresso) and the top is frosted so pretty, dusted with coco powder! Love it!

We just celebrated Valentine's day early this year. I made some cupcake for my husband, this one with a very special note and I want my husband to pay extra attention to before eating the cupcake.

And I totally want to win this for my bday gift (my bday is on 2/18). LOL!

I think my cutest desserts thus far have been my football-themed cookies... e.g. Georgia-Florida cookies (http://eatswimshop.wordpress.com/2011/10/28/georgia-florida-cookies/) and Go Navy cookies (http://www.flickr.com/photos/eatswimshop/6868084369/in/photostream)
Nothing really compares to the cuteness of your or Meaghan's stuff, though! Those sheep slay me.
The cutest cake(s) I've made were for my cousin's son's birthday. I did a circus tent out of 6" rounds (red & white striped with a banner of his name), and it was surrounded by cupcakes with clowns, balloons, "5"s, and juggling balls.

The cutest dessert I ever made was for my cousin's wedding shower. I baked mini black-and-white cookies but used pink-and-white frosting to go with the "ladies brunch" theme. They had a nice buttery crispy taste (in contrast to the HUGE cake-y black-and-whites I see in Brooklyn bakeries) and were fun to frost!

Cutest thing I have baked so far have been my penguin oreo cookies and cream cupcakes! I felt bad and couldnt eat their faces....

I think it's a tie between the ladybug cake/cupcakes I made for my daughter's first birthday an the overload chocolate cake I made while a student in England that ended up looking like one of those fancy derby hats (along with the plate it was served on). :)

I once made a (cake) pot of cake-pop flowers for a friend's bridal shower. It was a little messy, but very tasty :)
