The Secret Lives of Cupcakes

Um. What.

What do cupcakes do after the bakery closes? This is a question I think about a lot. I like to imagine them as little elves, getting to the real work of misbehaving and making magic after hours. And after I received this wonderful batch of cupcakes decorated to look like my Cuppie character at the CakeSpy Official Book Launch Party, made by New York Cupcakes and wearing wrappers by Bella Cupcake Couture, I had a chance to see for myself. Here's what they did:

This little cupcake took a ride on a pug...

Cupcake riding a pug!

This little cupcake helped me bake...

Cupcake helped me make frosting

This little cupcake considered cannibalism...

These look great!

These little cupcakes like Bakerella...

I just love Cake Pops!

This little cupcake didn't even know it was being hunted...

Pugs want cupcakes

This little cupcake dreamed of unicorns...

Cupcakes dream of unicorns

This little cupcake enjoyed the harvest...

Mellowcreme pumpkins surrounding cupcake

These little cupcakes hung out with some hotties...

This little cupcake made a big mess...

This little cupcake didn't fear death...

Naughty cupcake!

But perhaps he ought to have.

Goodnight, sweet cupcake

...the end.

AAAAH!

umm no but the cutest thing I've seen was a green dinosaur made of cake and frosting and stuff sitting on top of a sugar cookie. It was awesome!

When I was a kid had a very hard time eating anything with a face, like those Monster Cookie things. They were just so cute, I just couldn't bring myself to eat their delicious, smiling faces.

Seen some treats that were just too cute to eat, but my curiosity got the better of me and I ended up eating them anyways~ =P

NO! Well, YES! But if I reeeeeeaaaalllllllyyyyy like it, I take a picture first and then sloooooooooowly eat it, but really slowly and in the parts "I don't like the most" but at the end, I must admit I do eat EVERYTHING :) Mmmmmm ñam ñam!!

Bisous,

I always feel bad eating cupcakes with pretty flowers & cute little bow & I know how much time goes into making them. Your book is on my Xmas list but if I win it that would be great.

I've made hundreds of sugar flowers and embelishments over the years but the only ones I refused to eat were sugar ladybugs, sugar jack n the boxes and sugar Teddy bears. They all had a face!

I've always been able to eat all treats.... I blame it on having to clean my plate as a child!

This happened to me all the time when I was little. My grandparents would take me to the bakery and let me pick out whatever I wanted. I would always pick out the cutest cupcakes and cookies, and as delicious as they looked and as excited as I was about my new treats, a lot of the time I could never bring myself to eat them. I would instead "save them" until my mom threw them out because they went bad :(

I have issues eating pies from High 5. They are so lovely and awesome that I have problems with ingesting something that awesome.

I cannot eat cute treats. I've never been able to. Even when I was wee tot I couldn't do it; I would put my chocolate Easter bunnies in the freezer so that I could save them. (My dad, unfortunately, had no problem eating cute goodies, so my efforts at cute-treat conservation was unsuccessful.)

It would be little fondant/sugar sculpture art like a tiny replica of Minnie Mouse or Cinderella or something intricate and adorable like that, that you know some artist somewhere worked forever on.

Unfortunately, no! I am no willpower against sweet treats in front of me haha my stomach always wins!!

Not that I can remember, but I'm sure if I encountered those cupcakes I would hesitate for at least a moment.

I have seen many a beautiful cookie that was too pretty to eat. So I let someone else eat them :)
After all sugar is meant to be enjoyed on the inside of your stomach!

For my 1st communion my Mom made me the most amazing cake that looked like a lamb. The icing swirls were perfect, it looked just like wool, and it had real velvet ribbon around its neck.. I cried when they sliced it.

That's never happened, but I do take pictures of cute desserts!

For me, the cuter the sweet treat the more I want to eat it to see how something so cute could also taste delicious:) Sometimes the taste doesn't always match the cuteness;)
October 20 | Unregistered CommenterJulie
Never, not even with those cute chocolate easter bunnies. I always eat them lol
October 20 | Unregistered CommenterClaire
Never. NEVER! If it's highly adorable I make sure to take lots of photos of it, from all angles. Then it is consumed. :)
October 20 | Unregistered CommenterDebby
Never!! I will admit to taking pics of it before I eat it though :)
October 20 | Unregistered CommenterGeorgia
I usually take pictures of my sweet treats and then I eat them!
October 20 | Unregistered CommenterEden
NEVER!! I may have hesitated but I'd never pass up a delicious sweet because it was too cute.
