Oh how I wish I lived in Portland! Have fun!
Pix Patisserie, The Sugar Cube (a food cart), Whiffies Pies (another food cart), Flavour Spot (waffle food cart!), Petite Provence http://www.provence-portland.com/
How about chocolate shops? We got several fantastic local chocolatiers. And sandwich shops... some of the best. Let me know what you are interested in and I can direct you to some fantastic food!
Thanks Cake Believe!
SitStayEat: We are sandwich fiends! And we love chocolate! And burgers! Any suggestions?
Wow. I'll try to be brief.
Sandwiches: Bunk, Kenny and Zukes, Meat, Cheese, Bread. Bunk and MCB are both near the convention center, on the East side.
Chocolatiers: Xocolatl de David, Alma Chocolate, Sahagun. Those are my favorites. Cacao sells a fantastic, select variety of chocolate and has extraordinary drinking chocolate.
And if you lovelovelove aebleskiver (to die for, or rather, worth waiting in the cold), then go to Broder (w/ lemon curd and lingonberry jam).
Best burger... it is hard to pick one, but a bar by the name of Slow Bar has a fantastic artery clogger and is near the Convention Center too.
Let me know if you need any other suggestions or help. I might come down and see you!
SitStayEat: OMG, TOTALLY SWEET!! I don't know how we could possibly eat that much in one trip...but gosh, we're gonna try. :-) Thank you for all the tips and hope you can come say hi! I love talking food :-)

Thank you Mechelle! If you do attend, please come and say hi. I love meeting people who read the site (or just people who love food). I work at home alone all day so it's just great to SEE people! :-)
I second Pix patisserie. Definitely worth a visit!
