Giveaway: Verizon Jetpack!

This custom painting I did seemed appropriate for this post!

There's a saying (made up by me) that goes "how do I know it really happened if I didn't Twitter or Facebook it?".

What I mean to say by that is: technology is important. For everything. Including eating and baking cakes (it enables us to find recipes and post pictures!). My site wouldn't exist without technology. And I'm part of the Verizon Wireless Savvy Gourmets group to celebrate this fact.

And as part of that group, they've offered me a Verizon Jetpack to give away!!

If you win, Verizon will be sending you the Jetpack, a SIM card (needed for activation), a $150 Verizon Wireless gift card (to purchase other equipment or use toward bills), and instructions for how to activate the device.

Now that's totally sweet!

So. the giveaway is open through October 1, at which point it will close and I will announce a winner (I'll choose at random!). For shipping purposes, I am only able to offer this giveaway to US residents. So how do you enter?

It's easy. Simply leave a comment on this post (I have comment moderation enabled, so DO NOT FREAK OUT if it doesn't post right away) stating the following: if zombies were going to attack tomorrow, what dessert would you choose for your last meal?

Fine print about my involvement with the program: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Gourmets program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

Good luck!

Chocolate Brownie Sundae! ...with cookie dough on top for good measure.

Apple Crisp for sure. It's got to be my favorite of all the deserts and I can't wait to get to the orchard this year. Hopefully the apple-picking zombies will leave me some good choices!

Oh boy! How do I answer this? I'm gonna have to go with a classic - a super-oversized, warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and caramel sauce on top! Am I allowed to have this even if zombies don't attack tomorrow? :)

The Chocolate Rum Tart with Chocolate Pecan Crust from Plates and Palates in Bountiful, Utah. Yes, it's good and I had to specify the location since I haven't been able to find anything like it or something that good!

Thanks for a nice giveaway!

I am going to go with pumpkin pie and whipped cream. I am a devout chocoholic, but there is just something special about pumpkin pie and what I associate with its consumption.

probably nanaimo bars. I've never made them because they seem so time-consuming, but hey, when else am I going to do it?

But I'd be sure to have plenty of ice cream to enjoy, too!

Chocolate cupcake brownies most definitely Chocolate cupcake brownies
It would have to be apple cobbler with a large quantity of crumble topping! Apple desserts are my weakness, don't tell the zombies.

If zombies were going to attack tomorrow, I would have to finish off the entire half pan of brownies that is currently in my kitchen! Fudgey with chocolate chips and a Nutella drizzle on the top. YUM!!!

Peach cobbler ala mode. Preferably in a room with a secure view and strong door.
September 20 | Unregistered CommenterKatie Issaquah
Yipe! I would probably have apple crisp with Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream, with the ice cream and apple crisp separated (I don't like my food to touch!).

omg. raspberry framboise brownies!!

Hot fudge brownie and caramel sundae with whipped cream, a cherry, and rainbow sprinkles =P

I would venture it would have to be a brookster from Baked or one I made at home if I wasn't anywhere near Red Hook, maybe with some Brusters Cake Batter ice cream on top. Or there's always that ice cream pudding pie with some alcohol laced in, or maybe a recipe I've never made out of the Boozy Baker. Too many choices... I almost think I would spend the entire day before baking and have a "dessert for dinner, zombies will attack" party with all kinds of dessert food and drinks. Yup, that's what I'd do.

Ok, I'm making this up on the fly, so bear with me!

I'd have a dessert than has a shortbread bottom crust overlaid with a coconut Mounds candy bar-like filling with chopped pecans and then covered with cherry pie filling and drizzled with dark chocolate. That's all the flavors I'd love. Whew!

Now, if the zombies will hold off for a bit, I'll try and figure out a recipe for this, lol!

Thanks for the great giveaway.

I would have to go with a classic: red velvet cake (appropriate color for a zombie attack!) with massive amounts of cream cheese frosting. This probably has enough sugar to give me energy to run for my life a little bit farther too. :-)
September 21 | Unregistered CommenterJulie W
If zombies were attacking I don't know that I could choose one. Probably Texas Sheet Cake for starters. Followed by a cheesecake (I think I make the best). Some sort of lemon bar or loaf. And maybe a fresh peach pie with vanilla ice cream to finish it off as the zombies come crashing through the doors & windows.

If zombies attack, and they will eventually, I would go out with a bang. My grandma Sue's Rocky Road Fudge. It takes hours to make and is so glossy and delicious it will stop you dead in your tracks. It's phenom. :)

Now I'm hungry...
Thanksgiving Leftover Cranberry Nut Bars

Why? So I could share them with the Zombies, because they kind of look like brains!

(see here -> http://www.cakespy.com/blog/2009/11/30/sweet-seconds-thanksgiving-leftover-cranberry-nut-bars-for-s.html - Am I right?)

Chocolate cupcakes with caramel frosting - YUM!!

Creme Brulee. My favorite.

Key lime cheesecake! But I would need vanilla bean ice cream with white chocolate magic shell to go with it. I am about to be undead, after all.
September 21 | Unregistered CommenterCaley
In response to an impending zombie attack, I would surely indulge in a very large cheesecake.
