Sweet Surprise: The Magic of the Rainbow Cake

There's no doubt about it: the rainbow cake is magical. I know this because there's a recipe for it in my book, CakeSpy Presents Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life
But here's the thing that I want to tell you. This cake is really, truly magic.
Because when you present it to a crowd, it may look exciting and delicious, as in the photo at the top...
but then, when you slice into it, here's what greets you.
Like, OMG! There is no way for people to not have a reaction when you cut into this cake. And the reactions are usually delightfully dramatic: "Oh my god!" "Ooooooooh!" "So pretty!" "How did you DO that??" and the like. Really, even if you only have one cake pan and had to bake each layer separately and it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r, this makes it all worthwhile.
So this is basically a public service announcement to tell you that if you spend the time and love to make this cake, you will rewarded with a rainbow of good feelings in response.
