So timely! My husband and I are visiting New Orleans on vacay from frigid Cleveland, OH. Thanks to your list, I found that Sucre Bakery was having a midnight "king cake kick-off" last night to celebrate the coming of king cake season and we totally went! It was pretty much the best thing ever.
