Best Giveaway Ever: Win a Copy of Big Little Felt Universe AND a Handmade Felt Cake by Jeannette Lim

Dudes. Dudettes. You know that I don't like to speak in absolutes (yes I do) but...this is, without a doubt, the biggest, best, awesomest giveaway ever.

Here's the deal. Indie crafter/Etsy artist, Jeanette Lim has just come out with a new book entitled Big Little Felt Universe: Sew It, Stuff It, Squeeze It, Fun! --which I learned about thanks to my friends at Lark Crafts. BLFU features over 70 fun stitched-felt projects—including food items, desserts, and interactive play kits.

And you can win a copy--awesome, right? But wait, there's more: The author, Jeanette, handmade the cake shown at the top of this post for the book, and she donated it for this special giveaway on CakeSpy!!! As you can see, it’s a vanilla cake with eight different kinds of fruit topping, and it comes with candles that stand up via magnets, a serving plate, spatula, and a cake box with a ribbon (not shown) -- all made out of felt!

I know, I know: you want to win this. But how to enter?

It's easy. All you have to do is leave a comment below telling me what kind of cake you're going to have for your birthday this year. I can be a cake you're sure you'll have, or just the dream cake--fantasy allowed.

But--since I'm not above coercing you to like me, I'll enter you in the running TWICE if you "Like" me (CakeSpy) on Facebook. Yeah, you heard me. Do it.

Giveaway will close on Tuesday, March 29 at noon PST!

My husband will be making my cake this year. He asked what I wanted but didn't tell me which one he is making...it's between lemon pound cake with lemon curd or chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.. Either way, it will be a tasty tasty 26th!

I'm not really sure, what cake I want this year for my birthday but I am heading towards a chocolate mud cake :) or just a plain vanilla cake with butter cream icing which would be a treat in its self as both my mum and younger sister hate butter cream which means when ever I bake a cake it just has to be plain icing :( which is bad for someone like me who LOVES butter cream :)

Yum. yum. I love pina colada cake with real pineapples, roasted coconut and a splash of rum. Great blog. Didn't know you are on Facebook; I'm going to 'LIKE' as soon as I finish reading your blog.

This sounds odd, but I am hoping for a cookie cake. There's a cookie bakery in town that makes THE BEST sugar cookies EVER. I usually go for cupcakes or actual cake, but these are the ultimate!!

What cake really depends on where I am, what I'm doing and also what I'm in the mood for. If I'm at home and I've got some free time it's going to be Irish Cream since I'll be making it and its my favorite. If I'm too busy to make something I'll go with a ice cream cake from DQ. However, if I'm lucky enough to go somewhere on vacation for my birthday then hopefully it will be a GIANT cupcake..preferably vanilla. :) mmmm....

I liked you on Facebook and saw this awesome give away!!! Sorry, I'm a plain Jane. Vanilla cake w/ vanilla butter cream, hold the sprinkles. And a diet coke to wash it down.

I would love some red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and some chocolate dipped strawberries on top :)

I'm a huge fan of Asian fruit cakes, so probably one of those. Or, switch it up a bit with an awesome fruit tart of some sort :) (Tart in a cake?!)

My ideal birthday cake would have to be these Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcake Bites I found here http://iheartcuppycakes.com/2011/02/28/for-my-birthday-boy/ . They just LOOK so sinfully awesome!

I always get the same cake for my birthday. Yellow cake with the most delicious caramel icing from Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen here in Louisville, KY. :) It was my wedding cake, too. LOVE IT!

i'm going to have a coconut cream cake

The best cake ever was my grannies chocolate sheet cake with chocolate frosting. I think she would use the recipe that came on the back of a Herseys cocoa can. She has been gone for about 5 years and I dont think I will ever find just the way she use to make it.

Well, it's a big one this year; I'm turning 21, so I'm going to have 21 cakes. Really. We actually are.

But we're only going to eat one of them. That one will be a vegan German chocolate cake with real coconut frosting. I will make this myself.

The others will be whatever we can get our hands on -- red velvet cupcakes, Carvel ice cream cakes, boxed Costco chocolate monstrosities, poorly-decorated grocery store cakes, home made, gluten-free peanut butter-carob cakes, cake mix cakes from boxes, maybe even a pie or two.

And we are going to have a cake fight with them. In bathing suits. In the backyard in Brooklyn. Then we're going to hose it all down.

Because I am not QUITE ready to give up childhood.

A pavlova, I'm obsessed!
My birthday cakes always involve chocolate and lots of it :) Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. The surprise for many people is that I serve coffee ice cream with it, but they love it once they try it.

Hm - my fantasy birthday cake would be vanilla bean cake with lemon curd and raspberry filling, and buttercream icing. However, since I'll be creating a first birthday cake for my little one just a few days earlier, chances are I'll be partaking of a Friendly's Wattamelon Roll on my birthday!

Also - "liked"!

Birthday cake! What an excellent topic. My boyfriend and I are planning another trip to San Francisco for our birthdays (June 30th and July 7th), so I'm thinking a glorious Scharffen Berger chocolate cake from Miette.

It's lovely and glossy and oh-so-chocolatey. Mmm :)

My grandmother's Sour Cream Chocolate cake with Sour Cream Chocolate frosting is the tradition for birthdays in my family. I might mix it up this year and make a few different cakes and layer them together, inspired by this Geological Layers Cake http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2011/01/geological_layers_cake.html

Some sort of lemon cake, yum!

I will probably bake myself one-- my infamous chocolate peanut butter cake I've perfected via Smitten Kitchen. It's a three-layer chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, chocolate glaze, and salted peanuts on top. Each layer is made with a stick of butter, and the frosting has a stick of butter, 12 oz of cream cheese, and a whole jar of peanut butter in it... so yeah, it's pretty much the most devastatingly delectable cake in existence.

I will have a Orange Poke Cake...I love to cook and I am starting to learn new things thanks to sites like yours.

A layered sponge cake with freshly whipped cream and strawberries!

Seven layer coconut cake.

When I was young, my go-to favorite birthday cake was a Kahlua Cheesecake (I was very mature... haha). I'd love to experience that delicious cake again!
