Vanilla Cake with chocolate frosting is better. I just can't picture eating a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.

I would say vanilla ( or more specifically yellow) cake with creamy chocolate frosting. My mom used to make it and I can still remember and almost taste how delicious it was and still is!

This wasn't even a question for me...chocolate cake with vanilla frosting! (And FYI - I love fake "canned" vanilla frosting, but hate the fake chocolate stuff. If I am having chocolate frosting, it must be real!)

I would have to vote for Chocolate cake with vanilla icing. Something about the combination is so perfectly matched. I might have to add some colored sugar on top. The extra crunch puts it over the top.
