The doughnut muffin was actually invented by a bakery in Healdsburg CA, the owner has been making them for over 15 years. It's called the downtown bakery and creamery.

They were actually on TV about a few weeks on the Food Network, on the best thing I ever ate show. The show featured their doughnut muffin.
I love the links! I'm definitely trying the cinnamon bun pie pockets. But what I love most: the Flight of the Conchords reference. :) And I think it might just be biscuit time...
you know when we went to Columbia City bakery, I asked for a Doughnut Muffin & they looked at me with confusion. Is it a sometimes kinda thing? They didn't even mention anything though. Two people came up to help me & neither knew what I was talking about. Weird right?? They ended up giving me some flaky pastry thing that looked like it was made in a cupcake pan.
Wow. I got irrationally panicked when I didn't see the donut cupcake link at the bottom! So glad I found it.. must bake..
