Brownie Points: a Simply Divine Brownies Giveaway!

Brownies are a masterpiece of American cookery. This is not opinion--it's fact. They are--to sum it up concisely--a simply divine treat.

Oh--what a perfect time to introduce the treasure of Portland, Maine--Simply Divine Brownies. They boast a retail bake shop, and will ship their brownies nationwide.

And oh, the brownies. At Casa de CakeSpy, we'd been mildly obsessed with these brownies since having discovered the adorable brownies that look like cupcakes, with the other items on the menu--like dense, chewy brownies in a plethora of flavors and sizes--just adding to the obsession.

And now, dear, lucky readers, you too can share this sweet joy.

Yup: Simply Divine has kindly offered a brownie care package for giveaway on this site.

What can you win? A parcel of pure pleasure, including a sampler of 12 assorted brownie flavors, a package of sweet brownie bites (perfect for smaller appetites, or, you know, eating 3 at a time), and one of those adorable aforementioned trompe l'oeil brownies. Not for nothin', but based on my calculations this is a parcel worth over $75, considering shipping and stuff.

Yeah, you wanna win this.

So how do you enter? It's easy. Just answer the following important brownie questions below in the comments section and you'll be entered to win this sweet package of postal bliss! Of course, if you couldn't possibly wait for brownie bliss, you can mos' def check them out online here and check out their blog here!

Fine Print: The giveaway will close on Sunday, February 22 at 12pm PST; the winner will be announced within the next 48 hours. Entrants in the US only, please. Good luck!

  1. What's your type of brownie: chewy, cakey, or fudgy?
  2. Frosting on brownies: yes or no?
  3. Which brownies in the pan do you covet most: edge or middle?

UPDATE: THE WINNER!

We have a winner, friends! It is Pruittiporn from New Haven, CT, who has this to say about the above brownie poll:

1. I oscillate between fudgy and chewy.

2. No - I prefer my brownie add-ons baked in!

3. I prefer edge, but I'm not opposed to the middle either

1. Fudgy and dense
2. Depends on the brownie- if it's a mint brownie, then it needs frosting, but my favorite brownie totally doesn't need frosting
3. I love the middles- it's even fudgier!

I love Cakey Brownies!
Lovely without the frosting, but would not mind the added sweetness!!!
I am all for the middle parts of the brownie, so soft and chewy!!!!

Yumm, I think I need to go and Bake some chewy Brownies now!!!!

I love Chewey Brownies!
No need for frosting, but would not mind the extra sweetness!!
I soooo LOVE the Middle please!!!!
I think I should get up and bake some brownies right now, YUMM!!!!!

1. FUDGY!
2. Definitely NO frosting
3. Edge fo' sho'

fudgey, frosting hells yes! (preferably a contrasting flavor), and i am a totally into the middle.

1. There are some days when I want extreme chewiness, and other days when I want really fudgy, dense brownies. But both have to be intensely chocolatey. I loove dark chocolate!

2. Brownies should never have frosting, unless you count melted chocolate as frosting.

3. I like edge pieces when they're cut big enough so I can get both chewy edge and softer middle.

February 13 | Unregistered Commenterkay

1. Chewy
2. Yes
3. Middle

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterLadytink_534

Chewy brownies are definitely the best!

I like frostings if it's the kind of frosting that is so good that you find yourself eating it from the bowl with a spoon. None of that store bought &$#*!

No brownie should be wasted but I eat the edges first!

I love a chewy brownie - no frosting (although not opposed to other toppings or mix-ins!) and an edge, please. Although I would not turn down a middle piece. Nor one with frosting, for that matter!

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterJen

Oooh yum! Those are so cute & look delicious!

1. Chewy or fudgy!
2. Probably prefer without frosting, but I've never had a frosted brownie (and I LOVE frosting), so I can't imagine not liking frosted ones!
3. A corner piece - 2 crunchy, delicious sides and 2 chewy sides & center! The best piece because you get the best of both :)

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterDori

Chewy, no frosting and EDGES rule

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

1. Fudgy--with chunks preferably!
2. Frosting is never a bad thing
3. Edge, but not the corner!

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterKatie

1) chewy, mmmmm

2) no frosting, usually

3) edge! I am asking for one of those all edge pans for my birthday

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterAmber

1. fudgey
2. yum frosting!
3. middle!!

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterEmma

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterLaura

Fudgy!
No frosting!
Middle!

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterLauren

Fudgy, no frosting made in an all edges pan which is quite possibly the greatest baking invention ever!

February 14 | Unregistered Commenteralison

1. Fudgy
2. Love frosting!
3. Middle

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterNoga

1. I'm a fan of fudgy brownies.
2. I like frosting on cakey brownies, but otherwise no.
3. Middle, all the way!

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterSarah

1 - a cross between chewy and fudgey!
2 - really good, thick frosting ftw!
3 - the middle is the best to get the ultimate chewy-gooeyness.

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterStefanie

Fudgy, no--unless it's ganache, middle

February 14 | Unregistered Commentermirien

1) cakey baby!
2) both, all brownies are good, i am not prejudice!
3) see above... but if i have to choose i would say edge !

February 14 | Unregistered Commentermonica in raleigh

1) Chewy!
2) No frosting, just the brownie
3) I'm slightly torn, but I think I'm going to have to go with the middle. Sooo good.

February 14 | Unregistered CommenterAndrea

1. FUDGY
2. YES!!
3. THE EDGES ARE THE BEST!
