Sweet Giveaway: Win an Original Framed CakeSpy Watercolor!

Today, for no particular reason other than the fact that it might sweeten your day, CakeSpy is offering a giveaway.

Totally sweet: you could win a framed and matted original watercolor by CakeSpy! It pictures a sweet scene of treats flying a kite on what looks like a carefree and sugar-filled day (of course, if you can't wait to see if you won, feel free to shop online here).

Want a piece of that sweetness? To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post to satisfy the spy's curiosity:

What is the last dessert, sweet, or baked good that really knocked your socks off?

A buttery croissant? A decadent chocolate torte? Or perhaps a homespun apple pie? I want to hear all about it. Of course recipes are welcome too!

This giveaway is open to entrants everywhere (US and abroad). The giveaway will close for entries on Thursday, November 18, at 12pm PST, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

Two weekends ago I had a Salted Caramel (vegan!!) donut at Pepple's Donuts in San Francisco's Ferry Building that was to die for. Like, seriously. Super salty, super sweet, and so deliciously cakey. I don't live in San Francisco, but now I wish I did.

For our Halloween party, I make the Cookie/Cake/Pie. It was amazing! It knocked my socks off an everyone's who ate a piece.

ps. I really think I should win this original framed work of art as I already have a little Cakespy collage going on in my kitchen. ;D

I get to toot my own horn on this one...I'm not a great baker but I tried out a new pie recipe and LOVED it. it's called french apple pie, instead of a top crust its a crumble top. yum!!

My favorite sweet as of recent would have to be these amazing salted caramels that my Sister-in-Law, Nicole made. They were melt in your mouth delicious!

Joanne Chang's (of Flour Bakery in Boston) Hazlenut-almond dacquoise--hazelnut and almond meringues encased a frozen coffee buttercream center, only to be enrobed in dark ganache and decorated with hazelnuts. SWOON!

The best dessert I had lately was sweet potato ice cream at a local French restaurant. I would love to be able to recreate it for the holidays.

Homemade Snickers Bars. A friend of mine has made these for potlucks/dessert contests and they are AMAZING, but ridiculously time consuming (you have to chill each layer before moving on) so I haven't attempted her recipe yet. But they are delicious, melt in your mouth, better than the candy bar good!

I made snickerdoodle cupcakes for a bakesale, they were so good I bought most of them BACK! eh, it's for charity... they were the perfect Fall snack... all-be eating 5 of them probably wasn't the wisest idea but totally worth it :-)

For a restaurant option - the toffee pudding at Oceanaire - it was so good! For home baked - I'd have to say pecan pretzel bars from Rick Bayless' latest cookbook that I made for a party - really really yummy!

For our Halloween night of family fun, I made Aebelskivers... a pancake puff that is just out of this world yummy with a maple-buttercream frosting to dip into. Seriously... the pancake puff was just a convenient (and delicious) delivery device for the frosting. But who's complaining... Hahah!!!

The last thing I made that really knocked my socks off was pumpkin bread. An amazing recipe that you bake and let sit overnight so that when you have a piece for breakfast the next morning, it tastes like pumpkin pie. I do love an excuse to have desserts for breakfast.
