Cake Byte: Brand New CakeSpy Felt Ornaments, and a Giveaway!

Giveaway!
I'm so excited about these new Cuppie ornaments that I can't even come up with a dessert-related pun!

This is a sweet ornament version of Cuppie the Cupcake! This felt puffy ornament is made of layered pink, grey and red felt, finished with embroidery for the eyes and cupcake cup detailing, and of course the pink frosting has some shimmery glittery finish! It measures 3.5" tall. This ornament isn't just for Christmas--it will add sweetness when hung from a window or keep you inspired if hung in your cubicle!

And, happily, they were made in collaboration with local company Party Partners! To purchase, visit cakespyshop.com.

I had "Half Baked Alaska" at a restaurant called Baked Alaska in Astoria, Oregon. It wasn't the standard: giant chocolate chip cookie, vanilla ice cream, and walnuts all cooked in brandy and served flaming at the table. Cookie was too soggy, but ice cream was delish!

Well, the last dessert was chocolate peanut butter ice cream, but that's not really a baked good! Last baked good was Mexican corn and cheese bread from the Moosewood cookbook.

Those ornaments are SO ADORABLE! Definitely going in someone's stocking this Christmas!

I had some homemade chocolate pudding yesterday, but have otherwise been sustained by cereal. I have big plans for muffins this weekend though. :)

I wish it was cupcakes but alas it was wedding cake from a wedding I attended in Capital Hill on Saturday. The dinner was not so great so I consumed two pieces of cake to make up for that. The carrot was good but the frosting was overly sweet buttercream and creamcheese would have made it tastier. Chocolate cake was a bit dry but the raspberry filling was to die for so I forgave the cake, of course :) If I ever get married it will be Trophy Cupcakes for all!

That is the most darling cupcake ornament I have ever seen! I love the sparkles.
The last dessert I ate was a slice of my very first attempt at a baked cheesecake...vanilla spice baked cheesecake!
