Cake Poll: Love and Chocolate!
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
How time flies! It's been a while since our last Cake Poll, so we're making up for it by offering a very sweet treat: an original (not a print!) Cakespy watercolor! The watercolor (shown top) will come in a 4x5 inch frame and will go to just one lucky winner. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment with your responses to the below poll, centered around the star of all February sweetness: chocolate! Here goes:
- Chocolates for Valentine's Day: cute or cliché?
- The chocolate box: which flavor would you rather leave for others?
- Milk chocolate: amateur hour or respectable citizen?
- Chocolate in savory foods (mole sauce, etc): awesome, or awful?
- Hot chocolate: with or without marshmallows?
- Chocolate-flavored or scented body products: ooh, or eww?
- What's your favorite chocolate dessert?
The poll is open for anyone (US and international!) to enter; the deadline is 12 p.m. PST on Saturday, February 14. The winner will be announced shortly after!

1. Chocolates for Valentine's Day: Cliche unless they are really good, fresh, hand dipped ones. And even then a little goes a long way. No one wants an entire pound of chocolates.

1) Chocolates are never a BAD idea for Valentine's day, especially if they're not drugstore-brand-russel-stover-oops-i-forgot-candy. A small bux of truffles on top of a gift is a delicious thing.
2) Not big on things with nuts or strange-tasting fruit creme type fillings. Have been known to put those back. It's FAMILY.
3) I LIKE milk chocolate if it's done well. A good milk chocolate truffle or caramel won't get turned away.
4) This is tricky. It's not my favorite.
5) I believe it was Calvin who explained to Hobbes that the way you make hot chocolate is to stuff the mug full of marshmallows first and then pour the hot chocolate in so it just fills the cracks. I agree.
6) Usually not too good. Sugary-fake-bad tasting.
7) I love a delish moist chocolate cake with a ridic thick frosting. A brownie with chocolate chunks is good too. And truffles. Oh, truffles.
