Cake Byte: Cake Central Magazine to Launch in March 2010

I don't know about you, but I get totally excited when I hear about something new in the cake community. And a sweet bit of news recently came my way via Leanne, whose delicious cakes I have sampled and who has purchased my artwork--she's part of a new cake publication, Cake Central, which will be publishing their first issue in March of 2010!

This is exciting news. I love all food magazines but, if this one includes tips and tutorials, sign me up. The price is a bit steep but if you break it down by month, it's not too bad.

I have seen this preview issue, and I have a feeling people will be demanding their money back. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING that cannot be found with a few simple searches in Google, Google images, or other search engines. The methods are not new, and many people who are familiar with the site will be scratching their heads saying "I just read this last month on the website. Why did I pay for this subscription?"

The pictures are glossy, and K. Vincent makes for an eye catching first release cover, but you'll want to take a nap between the first page and the back cover. My suggestion to the owners' of this magazine? Take care of the website you started, make it attractive again. The people who you think are bringing it down, are the ones everyone wants to stick around. Get the dollar signs out of your eyes over this mag, and listen to the people who make your site what it is.

Came across this thread by chance and noticed the statement by "ARealCaker.' The information provided is not possible. On February 22 the magazine had not been printed and at this date of writing the only people who have seen it are the publishers and staff at the magazine, it will be out next week. I would not pay much attention to this post.
