I reeeeaaaalllly want to try those brown butter and bacon cookies! Love cookies. Love bacon. It's a win-win! :D And that...pound cake?...in the photo is making my tummy rumble.
I had no idea about Gourmet magazine! I'm going to miss it!
Clearly I haven't read this issue yet... will have to dig it up and find this feature. My fave recipe on my site w/ brown butter (because I have a bit of an addiction to trying out brown butter creations) is Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. Loved those. Will have to check out the others you mention here!!
Mmm - Everything looks good to me =D.
Super links! I hadn't seen most of those recipes. In fact, haven't seen this issue of Gourmet yet. You're right- we're all going to miss that magazine.
I love browning butter for that extra delish flavor. The divine Ms. M (that would be Martha) also has an incredible Butterscotch Cake recipe that uses browned butter. I've made it twice now to rave reviews: http://soap-queen.blogspot.com/2009/01/butterscotch-butterscotch-cake.html
I recently discovered brown butter icing. THE BEST THING EVER.
