Out, Damned Speck!: Cupcake Pendants by Dottyspeck (Via Cakespy Seattle)

At Cakespy, we like to think that we wear our love for cakes like a badge on our sleeve.
However, now we want to wear it like a necklace around our neck, having spied this awesome necklace by Dottyspeck, the company run by Seattle-based metalsmith Kim Williamson. Williamson's work is cute but manages to run more toward sophisticated and slightly tongue in cheek than "cutesy". This pendant, which retails for $68, could just as easily dress up, adding a little bit of fun to a little black dress, as it could dress down, proclaiming your cupcake love in a hoodie and jeans.
Either way, it's going to make life a little sweeter.

Oh, I love Belltown! And those are so darn cute.
Did you happen to catch the Favorite Things episode of Oprah this week? When she announced that everyone would receive a box of nine gourmet cupcakes from Williams Sonoma (they sound great!), women in the audience stood up, put their hands in the air, and started praising the Lord. If red velvet cupcakes aren't worthy of worship, I don't know what is.

I didn't catch that episode, but read about it on one of my favorite blogs, cupcakestakethecake.blogspot.com. Isn't it awesome that cupcakes cause that kind of a reaction!?
What I am MOST curious about though is how in the world Williams-Sonoma is shipping the cupcakes (packaging etc)! Maybe it's time to do some cupcake shipping experiments (the best way to ship them etc??).
Re: Queen Anne. Have you been to The 5 Spot Cafe? It's one of my absolute favorite brunch places. We like to drink salty dogs and eat french toast.
Surcie, Mr. Cakespy and I simply adore the 5 Spot! From their retro-ey sign to the perfect eggs, we find it worth hoofing it up the hill on weekends (although we only live about 8 or 9 blocks away, we have to walk straight up that daunting hill!). Gosh I can't wait til you come visit Seattle, we should go visit a bakery together!
