Sweet Giveaway: Win a KitchenAid Mixer or a Cupcake Kit, Compliments of Top Chef Just Desserts

I'm sure that there's something better than winning stuff, but at this moment, nothing is coming to mind.

That's because my friends (we're totally BFF, didn't you know? Of course, see note at bottom) at Bravo have offered up this totally mega-sweet giveaway because of their extreme happiness surrounding the premiere of Top Chef Just Desserts Season 2. Want to read more about it? OK:

The chef'testants and the sugar are back for season 2! As the pastry chefs meet and greet, they are surprised by host Gail Simmons and head judge Johnny Iuzzini with their first Quickfire Challenge.  One of the first challenges includes a fairy-tale inspired dessert. Imagination and talent are a must to survive the not-so-sugar coated competition. Will the chef's be able to get past their first-challenge nerves and fight their way to sweet success, or will the pressure make some contestants crumble from the start? Find out this Wednesday 8/24 @ 10/9c on the PREMIERE of BRAVO's Top Chef Just Desserts 2

Two winners will be chosen. A grand prize winner will receive a gorgeous Kitchen-Aid Mixer; a runner-up will win this cute and sweet cupcake kit.

How do you enter? Totally easy. Since this week not only marks the premiere of Season 2 of Just Desserts but my own 30th season of life (aka, it's my birthday on the 26th), tell me what kind of birthday cake you're wishing for this year. Leave it in the comments section below (comments are moderated so don't cry if you don't see it pop up right away!) or on the CakeSpy facebook page! But don't delay: this giveaway closes on August 26th at 5pm PST.

The fine print: This prize was provided by the BRAVO Network but BRAVO is not a sponsor, administrator, or involved in any other way with this giveaway. All opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of BRAVO. Per prize donor: entrants from the USA only.

UPDATE: The winners! The KitchenAid went to Erika of Fargo, ND, and the cupcake kit went to Suzanne S. of Austin, TX! Congratulations, ladies.

Birthday cake... I'm really hoping for either Dulce de Leche or Decadence, which is white Chocolate cake marbled with Dark Chocolate infused with White Chocolate Godiva Liqueur and three layers of Rich Chocolate Mousse topped with Chocolate ganache topping. I order them from a fabulous cake lady here in South Florida. http://www.susiesscrumptioussweets.com/

Being a July birthday girl my favorite cake was always angel food with sugared strawberries and homemade whipped cream - Fresh, simple and utterly delicious!

My birthday was in April, and i got to have lots of cupcakes in many flavors from sprinkles. I love pretty much all cake so a variety is best!

my birthday is next month--september 3, and while there are soooooo many yummy cake flavors out there, i love the classic--yellow cake w/chocolate frosting. that is my all time favorite. :)

Although my birthday was in July, a cake does not need a reason to be eaten :o). That being said I am wishing for a cake that my mom-mom used to make. It was an angel food cake with a thick layer of filling in the middle made from a mixture of whipped cream and various fruit, such as oranges and pineapple, with a whipped cream frosting. Its so light and delicious, perfect for a summer dessert.

I would like a chantilly cake. It's something I grew up with in Hawaii, but they don't seem to make it anywhere else. The closest thing to it is German chocolate, but chantilly frosting is sweeter and more solid. Mmm... chantilly cake....

Carrot Cake & Cheesecake Swirl w/Cream Cheese Frosting! ...like at the Cheesecake Factory... but only in cupcake form! ..then I can freeze em and eat em the entire month of my Birthday!!

I would LOVE a cake inspired by my current favorite dessert, the caramel budino with salted caramel sauce from Barbuzzo in Philadelphia. Perhaps layers of chocolate and caramel/brown sugar cake, caramel pudding filling and a salted penuche frosting?! Must brainstorm.....

Happy Birthday! I always wish for a birthday ice cream cake, preferably with mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Something insanely chocolatey! Maybe with a hint of coffee :)

My favorite birthday cake (that i ask for every year) is a strawberry cake with strawberry filling, strawberry preserves on top AND strawberry icing. Can you tell I love strawberries? My birthday is in the winter so I sometimes can't get the freshest strawberries but the cake is always amazing!

I would love a decadent chocolate cake!

I am wishing for ANY cake. As a baker no one ever gets/makes you a cake - so it'd be nice to not have to do the work myself for once. ;) And my bday is one day after yours!!

In the past, I've gone with Chocolate-Death-Cake, but the past couple years I had cheesecake. Yes, its totally still cake. BUT, THIS year, I went with cherry pie for my 21st birthday.
It may not be cake, but I must say, It still looks rather lovely with candles stuck in it all glowy-like. :)
