Sweet Giveaway: Win a KitchenAid Mixer or a Cupcake Kit, Compliments of Top Chef Just Desserts

I'm sure that there's something better than winning stuff, but at this moment, nothing is coming to mind.

That's because my friends (we're totally BFF, didn't you know? Of course, see note at bottom) at Bravo have offered up this totally mega-sweet giveaway because of their extreme happiness surrounding the premiere of Top Chef Just Desserts Season 2. Want to read more about it? OK:

The chef'testants and the sugar are back for season 2! As the pastry chefs meet and greet, they are surprised by host Gail Simmons and head judge Johnny Iuzzini with their first Quickfire Challenge.  One of the first challenges includes a fairy-tale inspired dessert. Imagination and talent are a must to survive the not-so-sugar coated competition. Will the chef's be able to get past their first-challenge nerves and fight their way to sweet success, or will the pressure make some contestants crumble from the start? Find out this Wednesday 8/24 @ 10/9c on the PREMIERE of BRAVO's Top Chef Just Desserts 2

Two winners will be chosen. A grand prize winner will receive a gorgeous Kitchen-Aid Mixer; a runner-up will win this cute and sweet cupcake kit.

How do you enter? Totally easy. Since this week not only marks the premiere of Season 2 of Just Desserts but my own 30th season of life (aka, it's my birthday on the 26th), tell me what kind of birthday cake you're wishing for this year. Leave it in the comments section below (comments are moderated so don't cry if you don't see it pop up right away!) or on the CakeSpy facebook page! But don't delay: this giveaway closes on August 26th at 5pm PST.

The fine print: This prize was provided by the BRAVO Network but BRAVO is not a sponsor, administrator, or involved in any other way with this giveaway. All opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of BRAVO. Per prize donor: entrants from the USA only.

UPDATE: The winners! The KitchenAid went to Erika of Fargo, ND, and the cupcake kit went to Suzanne S. of Austin, TX! Congratulations, ladies.

Oh, Apricot Brandy Pound Cake, of course. It was my parents' wedding cake and it's my go-to cake for my birthday. I like to hide half of it wrapped in foil in the pantry for eating the week after, as well.

What I would like for my birthday is my favorite cake, which is called the spring fling - it is made by The Market- a small older market on larimer in downtown denver. It is a light but moist zuchinni cake cut into three layers, with mandarin oranges, kiwis, grapes, mango and strawberries (from the center out) in each layer, topped off with a cream cheese/whipped cream frosting. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. That is my birthday wish!!

I always had cherry chip cakes when I was a kid. I didn't think they made those any more but realized they do, or I could make it from scratch. So I'd like a cherry chip cake.

Hi! I would love to get a tarte aux framboises (raspberry tart) made with fresh raspberries, a buttery shell and pastry cream. Its not a cake, but it does the job!!

Happy 30th Birthday!

To me, SunButter is pretty much Prince Charming! So for my fairytale birthday cake, I am wishing for a mysterious, dark, and handsome flourless chocolate cake topped with creamy (and dreamy) SunButter frosting to come and sweep me off my feet.

Since I missed my birthday with my family last year (and the traditional homemade cake by mom!) I'm really looking forward to a delicious black forest cake! Don't be chincy with the chocolate or the cherries!

I would love pumpkin chocolate chip. I love the pumpkin anything and why not make it better by adding chocolate to it too!

Chocolate cake with chocolate ganche frosting!

Ooooo. I can choose any cake? I'm SUCH a cake person. But if I had to pick a cake, it would have to be the old fashioned Texas chocolate sheet cake my Momma makes - only hers. Why? Because I don't know anyone else that can make it any better. Give me the pan and a fork, and I'm in heaven. Who needs a plate?

I had my birthday this year already and I had a killer vegan chocolate mousse cake from Whole Foods. I usually make cupcakes (pink frosting is usually involved) but was sadly too busy this year. The chocolate cake made up for that!

A perfect medley of flavors in a cake to me involves fruit and nuts. So for my birthday, I wish for a fluffy almond cake torted with freshly made raspberry preserves and frosted in a roasted pistachio buttercream. Deep pinks and light green sugary happiness for a perfect stage to birthday candles.

I recently found this one and can't wait to try it... White Chocolate cake & White Chocolate buttercream with fresh strawberries

I would love a german chocolate cake with the yummy coconut pecan frosting. Haven't had it in years!

Definitely a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting!

My childhood choice (and I haven't had it since I left home) was my mom's chocolate angel food cake with buttercream frosting and an unsweetened chocolate shadow drizzled down the sides. I loved it then and I love the memories now.

My birthday is coming up quickly in October and, as the resident baker, I plan on making myself a decadent chocolate mocha cake with a peanut butter frosting. My favorite combination!

I would loooove a carrot cake (no raisins!) with cannoli filling for my bday! YUM!
