Sweet Giveaway: Win a KitchenAid Mixer or a Cupcake Kit, Compliments of Top Chef Just Desserts

I'm sure that there's something better than winning stuff, but at this moment, nothing is coming to mind.

That's because my friends (we're totally BFF, didn't you know? Of course, see note at bottom) at Bravo have offered up this totally mega-sweet giveaway because of their extreme happiness surrounding the premiere of Top Chef Just Desserts Season 2. Want to read more about it? OK:

The chef'testants and the sugar are back for season 2! As the pastry chefs meet and greet, they are surprised by host Gail Simmons and head judge Johnny Iuzzini with their first Quickfire Challenge.  One of the first challenges includes a fairy-tale inspired dessert. Imagination and talent are a must to survive the not-so-sugar coated competition. Will the chef's be able to get past their first-challenge nerves and fight their way to sweet success, or will the pressure make some contestants crumble from the start? Find out this Wednesday 8/24 @ 10/9c on the PREMIERE of BRAVO's Top Chef Just Desserts 2

Two winners will be chosen. A grand prize winner will receive a gorgeous Kitchen-Aid Mixer; a runner-up will win this cute and sweet cupcake kit.

How do you enter? Totally easy. Since this week not only marks the premiere of Season 2 of Just Desserts but my own 30th season of life (aka, it's my birthday on the 26th), tell me what kind of birthday cake you're wishing for this year. Leave it in the comments section below (comments are moderated so don't cry if you don't see it pop up right away!) or on the CakeSpy facebook page! But don't delay: this giveaway closes on August 26th at 5pm PST.

The fine print: This prize was provided by the BRAVO Network but BRAVO is not a sponsor, administrator, or involved in any other way with this giveaway. All opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of BRAVO. Per prize donor: entrants from the USA only.

UPDATE: The winners! The KitchenAid went to Erika of Fargo, ND, and the cupcake kit went to Suzanne S. of Austin, TX! Congratulations, ladies.

So it was actually just my birthday last week and I made a zebra cake (alternating yellow cake and chocolate cake) with a meringue frosting. Beautiful and delicious!

My birthday already came and went, and I had to make my own cupcakes! Next year, though, I really want a gorgeous, made from scratch coconut cake... I wouldn't mind making that myself!

Peanut butter cake with LOTS of chocolate frosting...and some pink sprinkles.

I've got my 30th birthday coming up in just over a month too so cake has already been on my mind. I'd love to have a yellow cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting from my favorite hometown bakery but, alas, geography and finances to not allow for such niceties. Instead I'll be attempting to make my own cake, which usually ends in disaster despite my ability to bake other treats. It'll be Reese's cheesecake layered with chocolate cake, caramel, and chopped peanuts. Oh, and heaps of ganache on top.

A Princess Cake, please! Sponge cake covered in marzipan. Yum.

I find cake to be pleasant but ultimately extraneous. All I really want is some thick, sugary frosting and a spoon.

My birthday was on the 14th. I didn't get a cake, but if I was to have one, I think I'd want something lemony with lemony buttercream frosting. Mmm-mmm! Or chocolate. Actually, now that I think about it, there is no wrong choice - all cakes are wonderful!

mmmmm so many possibilities! i can't decide! what about a layer cake with with a cheesecake layer, a brownie layer, a cookie layer and a marshmallow fluff frosting, drizzled with chocolate!

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I made the most amazing lemon layer cake. Sponge cake layers (with lemon zest), lemon curd spread between, on top and around all the layers and then covered with 7-minute frosting that I then torched around the rim of the cake. It was ah-maz-ing!

My dream birthday cake is a two-layer mocha baked masterpiece drizzled with a smooth and glossy chocolate ganache. Coffee and chocolate are a match made in heaven!

My birthday this year was vegan cake from Whole foods but next year I'd love a huge Peanut Butter Bomb cake from Vegan Treats in Bethlehem PA!

Hmm... I have a ways to go until July but I'm thinking hazelnut cake with hazelnut espresso mousse filling. I'll have to make it myself, but I think I'm up for the challenge :)
just today I started dreaming up my birthday cake for this year. Its gonna have peanut butter and oreo's in it. And a marshmallow frosting. And at least 6 layers. A stand mixer should would help me make it :)

Being a St. Patty's day birthday girl, I'm wishing for a boston creme pie birthday cake - in the shape of a shamrock!!

My birthday is just 3 days after yours... something so chocolate it makes your teeth hurt! Maybe some buttercreme frosting.... or sour cream... or cream cheese...
August 23 | Unregistered CommenterDLAOKC
I want a funfetti ice cream cake! :)
August 23 | Unregistered CommenterJessica Bolt
For my birthday I am thinking a chocolate cake with some sort of fancy ganache... maybe marionberry?!
August 23 | Unregistered CommenterAmara
I'm imagining (while drooling) a full-birthday-cake-size chocolate peanut butter lava cake with butter-creamy vanilla icing and crushed Oreo cookies topping, maybe add 29 (coz I'm turning 29... *sigh*) plain white mini marshmallows for a yummy decoration. Oh sweet heaven... that'd be the perfect birthday cake for me (which would make up for the sadness of getting another year older... *sob*), ultra yummy!! That'd definitely make a happy birthday to me (no pun intended!).
