I love the contrast of a vanilla cupcake against a deep dark chocolate frosting best but all cupcakes are great in my book.
Vanilla with chocolate!
Chocolate cake with vanilla frosting!
Hi CakeSpy! Vanilla cake with chocolate icing... All the way! it's been my favorite as a little girl and it so much my favorite that I have been ordering my own birthday cakes for the last 10 yrs or so because it has to be the right vanilla with the right chocolate icing. I know it's a bit strange that I do this but over the years it's become my little tradition. That is how much I love my yellow with chocolate. :)
Vanilla cake with chocolate frosting :-)
I'd love some chocolate cake with vanilla frosting...because vanilla frosting is the best and I believe (though you may call it blasphemy, cakespy) that cake is mostly just the venue to get frosting into my mouth.
chocolate cake with vanolla icing
chocolate cake with vanilla icing
chocolate cake with vanilla icing
Vanilla cake is so classic and simple, that I think that the grand boom of flavor chocolate frosting has to offer serves as a silk blanket coving the gentle sweet vanilla. (I know, the silky chocolate part sounded like something in a commercial) The chocolate has enough flavor to compliment the cake yet bring two tastes together in a friendly manner. X's and O's all around!
Chocolate cake, though delicious, isn't as sweet as vanilla/white cake and paring that with the simple vanilla frosting or buttercream would lack the punch that the vanilla cake chocolate frosting recipe has to offer. If flavor was fireworks, the chocolate cake with vanilla would be home production, sparklers, roman candles, etc. It's cool but isn't anything REALLY special. But the Vanilla with chocolate seems more like something you'd see sitting on a blanket at the park on Independence Day. This is just me and my taste buds' opinion, so I guess it depends on the person! (But the more chocolate together ;) )
Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting all the way! :)
Chocolate cake with vanilla icing! Mmmmmm!
Chocolate frosting and vanilla cake all the wayyy!!!!!!!
Vanilla cake with chocolate frosting!
Have to say vanilla cake with chocolate frosting - I like having the heavier, richer taste of chocolate on top!
Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting. I am not a fan of vanilla cake but pair it with some devilishly scrumptious chocolate frosting and BAMM! Heaven.......
Chocolate w/ vanilla frosting!
Vanilla with chocolate frosting. For sure!
I'm a fan of Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting....
White cake with fudge-like chocolate icing (and sprinkles!).
Vanilla cake with chocolate frosting (and rainbow sprinkles)
The better combo of the two would be chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, but the BEST pairing would be chocolate cake with chocolate frosting!
I love chocolate cake with vanilla frosting! I think because I always found chocolate cake to be more tasty than vanilla cake!

Vanilla cake with chocolate icing. Mmmm.
Hmmmm... this is a quandary. Most chocolate frostings are better than most vanilla ones, so I'll go with vanilla cake with chocolate frosting.
