The Sweet 100
Recently, a website called Very Good Taste started something of an internet fire with a list called "The Omnivore's Hundred", which listed 100 foods which "every good omnivore should have tried at least once in their life." We liked the idea, and inspired by the vegan variation on Hannah Kaminsky's site, we thought--why not make our own Sweet 100!? Like the original, our list includes "fine food, strange food, everyday food and even some pretty bad food"--but in our universe, it's all sweet! (In case any of them are foreign to you, links to pictures and recipes are included; also, for any vegans, feel free to go through the list assuming it's a vegan counterpart). How many have you tried? If you'd like, feel free to follow the same guidelines:
2) Bold all of the sweets you've eaten--or make them a different type color.
3) Cross out any of them that you'd never ever eat.
5) Optional: Post a comment here linking to your results--or just post a comment letting us know how many you've tried, or what you're going to try next!

I got 57% and my list is now up!
This is such fun! Although, it's a little scary to see how many of these I've actually eaten. ;)

As us geeks would say: OM NOM NOM
I only scored a 45, I have a long way to go, I better get baking!!!
Wow, this must have been a lot of work. Awesome list, so many things I've never heard of that I now feel I must try! I think I scored fifty eight, but I'm not sure now. I decided to also italicize the things I had made, just to liven things up a little more ;)

What! No Little Debbie Cakes?
Do you allow substitutions? Green tea ice cream for green tea cookies? Is there a charge?
I'll post this on my blog so I don't break the chain:

You have such an unstoppable ability to twist everything into a discussion about sweets! :-)
You've done it again Jesse. Amazing! I've added way to many to my "to taste" list. Although, I must confess it gives me great satisfaction to say, "Cakespy Made Me Do it!"
There's an award for you over at my blog:)

I was pleasantly surprised...http://krabstitch.blogspot.com/" REL="nofollow">On my blog I scored a 62 on the Sweet 100 and 51 on the Omnivore 100...I didn't realize I was such a foodie!
I've had to edit mine again, because I've actually had lots of Mexican Wedding cakes, I just didn't know that's what they were called. So, I'm up to 57 now. I'll have a British 100 up on Tuesday!
Here is my http://retorte.blogspot.com/2008/09/sweet-100.html" REL="nofollow">list.
49/100. better than i was expecting! i'm going to try buckeyes next.
I've tried 43 of the desserts. I have no clue what I am making next. Donuts seem very tempting thought!
49/100!!! when i first scanned the list i thought i was going to do more poorly, but not bad! this list is so brilliant. what about red bean soup--- a chinese dessert soup! when we were kids we looked upon it with painful dismay, and another chinese friend of mine would take it home and freeze it into fudgesicle-like things. now i love red bean, present in many asian desserts. i love that daifuku is on the list!
I thought I would maybe break 50 but 63 items it is. Not to bad I think. I will have to find some of the other ones to try.
